“What a View From The Top!”
Reviewed August 17, 2014

Stunning artwork on display and it was lovely to be able to take our time and take it all in as it was relatively quiet when we visited in the morning. We enjoyed all the art on offer especially what was housed on the 2nd floor which consisted of 21 rooms in total.

The visit would not be complete without going to the top of the Tower, the Mezzanine. After a fair amount of huffing and puffing I made it and was I glad that I did. The views were mesmerising!

Florence is indeed a beautiful city!

“Just beautiful!”
Reviewed August 16, 2014

Definitely put this on your list. It was suggested to us to go at night (check on the closing time), and it was perfect! There was hardly anyone there except for us! It was magnificent! What beautiful art!

“Palazzo Vecchio museum and tour”
Reviewed August 14, 2014 via mobile

The tour was recommended in a guide book and we were really glad we took it. Stefano the guide was interesting and informative, obviously passionate about the place and art in general. We gained so much more about the paintings, the Medici family and the symbolism and meaning of the different pictures. We took the Secret Passageways tour in English and were taken in secret doorways covered by paintings and even above the roof to see how the paintings are hung above the ceiling of the great hall. The best museum tour we have ever done - would thoroughly recommend.

“wow”
Reviewed August 13, 2014

The rooms are absolutely fantastic. When you walk first walk in, in the very first room, there is a lot to take in, but it is absolutely worth it
(choose the museum over the tower if you are scrapping for time and money-go to the piazzale michelangelo for a nicer and free view of Florence)

The tower is quite disappointing even though reaching the top (223 stairs) was not too difficult

“Great Building”
Reviewed August 12, 2014

We had been expecting much more if I'm honest. On entering the main hall you see wall and ceiling paintings which are all very interesting and some statues. From there you go through a series of rooms moving up which are predominantly empty bar the odd piece of furniture and busts but do have beautifully painted ceilings. We made our own way round but it would probably have been better to join a tour. I'm sure the more informed visitor will get more enjoyment from their visit.
