My family and I stumbled upon Piazza della Repubblica on our way from the Duomo to the Ponte Vecchio. It lies just a stone's throw from the Uffizi Gallery. There is a fountain, a couple of street performers and several interesting sculptures in this plaza. My kids loved the sculptures and, in particular, the one of Perseus holding Medusa's severed head. We spent about 30 minutes here just perusing the sculptures and enjoying the ambience.
