“The St. Regis is A Gem”
Reviewed January 5, 2014

This year for the second time we stayed at the St. Regis in Florence and I can say that it is one of my favorite places to stay abroad. The rooms are works of art and have never disappointed we are always at awe when we see them for the first time, to this add the service which is top of the line. I look forwards to my next visit.

Room Tip: Choose a room with a view of the Arno River.

Having enjoyed my second stay at The St. Regis Florence I congratulate the entire Team for world class personalized service with excellence! True genuine hospitality and many of the staff remembered me from my previous visit.

The Butler Team were not only always available and going above and beyond my expectations but wore genuine smiles and left no detail uncovered. Thank you Reynaldo, Viviana, Guiliana, Park, and Andrea!!! Bravo!!

The Winter Garden lounge, bar, & restaurant is one of the main reasons for returning to this magnificent and classic Florentine property. When you enter this warm and comforting atrium you feel like you have retreated back in time to a less automated and more traditional world. The room and design are stunning! The service whether for Afternoon Tea, Drinks, or Dinner is warm, attentive, and filled with both ceremony and genuine smiles.

The rooms are beautiful and reflect a true elegant Florentine style.

The concierge team is fantastic and even the Doormen are always smiling and welcoming you back "home" when you return.

Thank you St. Regis Florence Team for another unforgettable stay!!!

Room Tip: Splurge for a River View or Premium River room.

This is a great Hotel with an outstanding staff with views overlooking the river. Very large rooms for Italy! Beautifully restored Florence Palace that was centrally located for most all activities. Wish I could go back and enjoy this opulent Hotel.

This is a wonderful place to stay. Everyone is so friendly! Hotel is beautifully updated with an amazing history. Great location, steps away from everything. I will stay here every time we visit Florence. I could have stayed forever!!! The room was stunning with a mix of modern interiors and the preserved frescos in the bedroom. The breakfast offering was great. There was a large continental breakfast with fresh squeezed orange juice, pastries, and croissants. Dinner was romantic and special. We had our own secluded table and the piano added to the wonderful ambiance. The concierge was perfect with every recommendation from restaurants to tours. We felt right at home at the St. Regis.

A very nice lunch restaurant , of course all this beauty come at a hefty
price .
We were lucky as I bid in a charity auction and won the prize , still it was worth it .
One drawback no pool to cool off but we then went to the four season an even more

Location though was not exactly inside the old town but within walking distance (like 15 mins slow walk) but more quiet part and facing the river. It's quite a beautiful property with history.

I have been in contact with the concierge a few months ago inquiring about restaurants nearby and they (esp Mr Marco) promptly, patiently and courteously respond to and made the reservation for us (since it was during Christmas period).

Check in was quick. It is truly a 5 star service. The receptionist after checking you in will personally show you the rooms.

The shower pressure was adequate and all the necessary toiletries (except toothbrush) was provided and refilled everyday. Bottled water was also complimentary EXCEPT for room internet. They have free butler service (who will bring you free coffee or water and 1 or 2 piece ironing and etc but being a tourist who spends much time outside, we barely use the service and would have preferred free internet. One can get free wifi only in the lobby. The business center was also complimentary to the guests.

We booked premium deluxe room which was quite big and comfortable for 3 or even 4 persons. Beds were comfortable. The design was more classical. Strangely we were only given one set of keys which one can leave at the concierge who I assumed can remembered all the guests who stayed in which room as there is no verification whatsoever when we got back to get our key to the room. I wondered if someone just walk in and tell them the room number and will the concierge will recognize the intruder. Anyway, no such thing happened during our stay.

Breakfast has wide variety of choice. They have an egg/omelette station and etc.

Overall, the service was great and formal (more for aristocrat or socialite). Will definitely recommend to people who loves great service and pampering.

Dear Sea ShellsManila, Allow us to tell you that we are glad our Concierge (especially Marco) promptly, patiently and courteously responded to all your requests.
Thanks to your feedback, we take the opportunity to clarify some points. About Internet, allow us to underline that the WIFI connection is complimentary for all our guests in the Lobby Area and in our Restaurant Bar. Further, we offer the complimentary use of our computers and printers in the Studio located in the Lobby area. Differently, the WiFI connection is complimentary also into the room for those guests staying in Premium Deluxe River view, Junior Suite, and Suites, and for all our Platinum guests.
Regarding the room key, we give just one set of keys for safety reason and, as you rightly guessed, our Concierge delivers the key just after having verified the guest's identity or having recognized personally the guest. Looking forward to having you back as our guest in the nearest future, all our warmest regards. Ombretta - The Lobby Butler

We had an enjoyable stay at the St Regis just before Christmas. The hotel is beautiful and well-situated. We were in touch before our arrival and the concierge made reservations at one of our favorite restaurants and had a confirmation letter waiting for us at check-in. The staff were all extremely courteous and pleasant. The evening champagne presentation was fun and We were pleased that they served a very good French bubbly.

There were a couple of slightly off-putting things. We were offered an upgrade to a river view room with butler service and took it for 70 Euros a night. While the room was gorgeous, the window was small and you only could see the river when you stood in the window. Also, this is not the first time we've stayed in a hotel with butler service but I've never figured out what the butler does. Ours was very nice and brought us cappuccinos in the morning, but we also could have ordered them from room service. I know our butler would have packed or unpacked our suitcases, but we really don't travel with much luggage, so it's not something we would use.

We were also surprised that a couple of things in the bathroom, including the make-up mirror and the shower hose didn't work right. The mirror was fixed right away but the hose never was fixed properly--not the type of small issues you would expect in a hotel of this quality.

All in all, it was good stay, and we would definitely go back but we won't pay to upgrade for a river view or butler room.
