“Good view of Florence”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 19, 2013

The Garden itself is nonexistent. We saw some wild flowers growing on the side of the city wall and that was it for flowers. There are a few fountains, statues, and big rows of hedges, but not much else. The view of the city of Florence was spectacular from the top of the garden. There were many artist painting the city scape from this site. This garden could be so great if only someone put some effort and money into the upkeep and landscaping. It was sad to see it and know that it must of been so grand in the days when the Pitti and Medici familys lived here. If you are an artist, I can see paying the 10 Euro entry fee otherwise save the money and get a good sandwich and a drink. Not worth the time or money.

“Pleasant enough for a municipal park but NOT worth entry fee!”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 18, 2013

Paying 10 euros per person to visit these gardens felt expensive but we thought it would be worth the trip. Although the walk was pleasant enough and the view from up near the pottery museum was great, the park was unkept and none of the fountains were working. Not many flowers (none really except wild ones which I think we're some species of dandelion!) and generally run down. They need to spend some of the money from the extortionate entry fee on getting the fountains running at the very least and then maybe doing some planting. The visit was pleasant enough...not akin to visiting a nice municipal park...ok to take in food and have a picnic on a picnic rug on the grass for example...and loads of room to do that since there isn't much planting! But you don't pay 10 euros for a municipal park visit. In Manchester, UK, my local park is Heaton park and to be honest, this is better...and free!

“Utterly missable”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 17, 2013

We visited the gardens after seeing good reviews but boy oh boy....were we in for a surprize! The gardens are definitely not well kept (do NOT expect to see the gardens of Versailles here) and although it was summer everything seemed a bit on the dead side as far as greenery goes. The only positive is the view you get towards Santa Maria dei Fiori but if it's only for that it's not worth it. Rather spend your Euros on visiting David or eating gelato!

“Nice walk but too expensive ticket”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 13, 2013

I went there with my partner. The "garden" is very large and it took us a lot of time for visiting it. There are some interesting views, fountains, statues, caves and buildings to see, but don't expect a flowery garden. It is somehow more like a park left grow on his own. No flowers, overgrown edges, etc.
In the ticket was included, at least, the visit to the Giardino Bardini, surely most impressive and well mantained. You'll have to walk a little from Boboli to those gardens but it's worth the hike.

“Great views but be prepared to hike”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 10, 2013

10 Euros gives you admission to the Silver Museum (skipped it), Costume Museum (womens' dresses over the centuries), Porcelain Museum (skipped it), and the gardens. Be sure to wear comfy shoes as you will have to hike it uphill. The garden has a fabulous view of Florence. No reservation in advance required.
