“Well worth the visit.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 3, 2013

This was an incredibly humbling experience to visit this gallery. We purchased our tickets via a travel website, and had to go to the ticket counter to get actual tickets, so allow ample time to do that before your time. 30 minutes should be fine. You were not allowed to take pictures inside the gallery, I have never been to an art gallery, so do not know if that's the norm. We took a little over two hours to view the exhibits, but probably could have spent a lot more, got real hungry! All in all, definitely visit, as it will be an experience that lasts a lifetime.

“ART, 'nuff said.”

Amazing collection!! It's big, really BIG. you need more than 1 visit. Fortunately, it has long hours so you can pace yourself but it is still pretty overwhelming.

What is not to dislike in Uffizi? Just go there and stay until they kick you out just by looking around...

“Lines are horrible”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 3, 2013

The museum itself is excellent -- our boys said it was their best experience of the day. That said, there are horrible lines to enter the Uffizi. I would recommend going there first thing in the morning to avoid the lines. We wasted about two hours in line, only to find very few people actually in the museum itself. After spending 1-1/2 hours in line, we finally saw a sign telling us that we could bypass the line by paying an extra fee. By that time we didn't want to pay the fee b/c we were nearly at the head of the line. Once we entered the museum and saw that it was not crowded, we felt that the need for the line was manufactured in order to coerce people into paying extra to get in earlier. The museum cafe is very nice, with a nice view of the Duomo and Palazzo Vecchio. Because time is at a premium, I would recommend paying the extra fee to by-pass the line.
