The museum itself is excellent -- our boys said it was their best experience of the day. That said, there are horrible lines to enter the Uffizi. I would recommend going there first thing in the morning to avoid the lines. We wasted about two hours in line, only to find very few people actually in the museum itself. After spending 1-1/2 hours in line, we finally saw a sign telling us that we could bypass the line by paying an extra fee. By that time we didn't want to pay the fee b/c we were nearly at the head of the line. Once we entered the museum and saw that it was not crowded, we felt that the need for the line was manufactured in order to coerce people into paying extra to get in earlier. The museum cafe is very nice, with a nice view of the Duomo and Palazzo Vecchio. Because time is at a premium, I would recommend paying the extra fee to by-pass the line.
