“Reservations a must!”
Reviewed June 24, 2013

Even with advance reservations, it may take up to an hour to actually get inside. We had to register at Door 3, then cross over to Door 2 to queue up to go inside. We mistakenly left our reservation confirmation at the hotel. The cashier acted like it was a huge inconvenience for her, when she had the ability all along to easily search by name. Many of the rooms in the Gallery were still under construction, but you will certainly get your money's worth.

“uffizi nightmare”
Reviewed June 24, 2013

are you considering a visit to the Uffizi gallery when visiting Florence ? my partner and I both thought it was the thing to do and I went ahead and bought two tickets online and was required to collect the tickets fifteen minutes before our timed visit. The signs or directions for the Gallery are practically non existent so allow plenty of time. You have to take your ticket voucher to PORTA 3 which on the right hand side when approaching from the square, Here you have to queue to exchange the voucher for a ticket and then go across the street where you will find the entrance at PORTA 1. <Having bought the voucher in advance with your desired entry time you would expect to have access to the gallery immediately But we found the queue with the pre booked tickets longer than the usual queue . The gallery could learn a lot from the Hermitage/
Once inside we found that many of the rooms were closed and have been for years. now I am not art expert or have any great knowledge but if your want to see many paintings of Madonna and child this the place for you ( for those followers of 'Allo Allo' will not be disappointed) expensive terrace restauran E12 for a small cheese and meat platter) many will like the other European paintings tucked away on the ground floor on the way out

“Great Museum”
Reviewed June 24, 2013

The Ufifizi tour we took through Viator was lead by the woman who had spent 2 years cateloguing the museum. The many pieces of art are beyond words . . . Boticelli's Primavera, DiVilnci's Annunciation, etc., etc. Our guide was so knowledgeable, personable, and humorous with many "behind the scenes" stories of the Medici family, etc. Quite an experience. A must do!

“A must for art lovers....”
Reviewed June 23, 2013

If you appreciate art then a stop at the Uffizi is a must during your trip to Florence. Plan to spend time to drink in the wonderful collection. We purchashed an English guide book which thoroughly described the history of the pieces. We highly recommend pre-purchasing your tickets online which gives you a specfic time to enter the gallery and you bypass the very lengthy line up. There is a restaurant in the gallery if you need a bite to eat or drink...
