“A Very Special Place”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 14, 2013

You've visited the Uffizi and the Duomo now add this restaurant to your must-do list. This is one of those places where the intangibles add up to a unique and brilliant experience. Holding it all together, however, is excellent food. Particularly the Steak Florentine which I shared with my girlfriend and which we both agreed was the best steak we have ever eaten.

This is not a place for the shy and retiring. For the full tito's experience book a table about 9/9.30pm. At first you'll wonder what all the fuss was about but as the music gets louder and the customers get drunker {we had a lot of free shots) this place turns from great restaurant to a fantastic and slightly crazed party. Both nights we were there we ended up tagging on to other tables, dancing and then hitting the town with our new found friends. Italy is a country of extroverts and this is no more evident than in this exceptional restaurant.

“Nothing Special!”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 13, 2013

Maybe we were expecting too much! Having read the great praise from Rick Steves and Trip Advisor, we were expecting something really special. Our family of 7 was all in agreement that this meal was not getting a high ranking from us compared to our spectacular food over 2 weeks in Italy.

“Awesome steak. Great atmosphere. And coolest toilet ever.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 6, 2013 via mobile

First, I consider myself a bit of a steak connoisseur having worked in an upmarket steakhouse while in university. At home, I'm picky about where we get our beef and typically pay more than I would if I just bought at a supermarket. And I have had steak at Hy's, Morton's, Ruth Chris, etc. None of those can hold a candle to the steak we had this evening. Tender. Flavorful. Rare. And huge. a bone-in behemoth (there were 5 of us), Served with the best roast potatoes I've also ever had. Cheap? Not even a little. If you"re a steak lover as I am, do yourself a favour. Have the steak florentine at this restaurant. You won't be disappointed. it's worth every penny. Oh yes, they serve other food too. Our sons each had the swordfish carpaccio as a primi which they both loved (wonderful smokey flavor) and my wife and daughter shared a pasta dish as a primi. Again, both loved it. And we had 1.5L of house wine for 12 Euro. Also very nice. Oh yes, and my son has a video of perhaps the coolest automatic toilet seat cleaning device you've ever seen in the men's room. What else can I say. Just go.

“Great food and good vibes”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 6, 2013

This small restaurant is excellent evidence that location and interiors should not always be decisive on where you choose to have your next meal as a tourist in Florence. We visited "da Tito" based on the good reviews here on Tripadvisor and were not disappointed. The place has a very good feel to it, the staff is welcoming, warm and fun and the place as such has an unpretentious and very casual atmosphere. We shared a solid Florentine T-bone steak with some good side orders for the main course and an absolutely fantastic chocolate cake for desert. In addition, we had a starter (complimentary on the house) consisting of bread, cheese and walnuts, which was also very good. Also, we were offered a glass of Limoncello prior to leaving the restaurant which was also a very nice gesture. We will for sure visit this restaurant again the next time we stop by Florence.

“Unbelievable food!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 5, 2013 via mobile

While the environment may not be what you would expect (it is a little bit crazy), the food was incredible!! Seriously one of the best meals we had during our two week trip throughout Italy. Would highly recommend this restaurant!
