“Book! Very popular for good reason!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 27, 2013

Two of us went without reservation just after 7pm. They found us a table for 1h15min which was fine but the waitress gave us less than 5minutes to look at the menus before she stood over us until we ordered. That was the only down side. We ordered one course each (both pasta) which was very nice and traditional (but a lot of pepper - be warned). The house wine was nice and the entire thing was less than 30Euro. We wish we could go back!

“Fun Place”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 25, 2013

We went to "da Tito" on our first night in Firenze. It's an informal, busy, happy place to dine with friends. It's noisy, but in a happy, high-energy way that adds to the overall experience. I had the Florentine steak which was quite good - and huge (easily enough for two people)! My wife had the pumpkin risotto and sausage & cream and our friends had the lasagna and porcini mushrooms & pasta. Everyone enjoyed their meals. We drank the house wine - both the white and red - and found it to be most satisfactory. The total tab came to about 35 Euro/person, which is reasonable for what you get. This is a fun place to eat, but don't come here if you want to carry on a serious conversation or if you're looking for a romantic setting. Come here for the fun of it!

“Great food but busy..So book”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 23, 2013

This little restaurant is out of the city centre a little, but worth the effort. You need to make a reservation as it gets very busy. Not too pricey and food is excellent, if a little rich. The lasagne here is to die for. The house red is cheap and very drinkable!

“Just average Italian food”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 23, 2013

We had dinner here this evening and found it again (second dinner in two years) to be very average. Nothing special. Had the fried polenta, split the potato ravioli, and had the stuffed pork and the boar stew with apples. The boar was the best of these. Found the staff quite inattentive throughout the meal (the couple next to us expressed a desire to have dessert and waited 20 minutes just to hear the options) and it wasn't that busy. I would still recommend it, but it wouldn't be high on my list.

“Beware of large, rare meat!”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 19, 2013

Ate here tonight. Don't understand what all the fuss is about. First, for the uninitiated, a florentine steak is cooked RARE. Don't even think about asking for it cooked any other way. 2nd, the serve it in a 1.5-3kg portion ONLY (enough to feed 3-4 military personnel. Wife/I resorted to other items on their menu which were cooked. Stew was cold when it came, so we sent it back. 2nd time, it was still cold. Veal steak was not a good cut, ... a lot of fat. Wine offering was so-so. All in all, many other wonderful florentine restaurants to try.
