“Great value in the city centre”
Reviewed February 21, 2014

Couldn't believe this little place was such good value right in the centre of Florence. If you want flashy decor and table service you're in the wrong place but if you want authentic, home cooked Tuscan food it's perfect. Our Italian was non existent but the two sisters behind the counter had enough English for us to understand; you have to go up to the counter, choose what you'd like to eat, they prepare it, you help yourself to a drink from the fridge or counter and then you have to find a seat either on a stool at the window or upstairs. We enjoyed delicious ribollita, risotto, water and two beers for 10 euro - amazing value!

“great food”
Reviewed February 19, 2014

Crostini to die for (as an American friend would say!) - everything home made and served with a smile - fantastic if you just want a quick lunch - the porchetta rolls are just perfect!

“Excellent lunch at a reasonable price!”
Reviewed October 27, 2013

This place was recommended by the host of the B&B I stayed in. I just wanted a quick lunch so I could start my Florence exploration. This was about 2 blocks away. Ordered a prosciutto/mozzarella sandwich, and not only was it well presented, but the bread was unbelievably good, and the tomato was one of the freshest I have tasted. Plus, that and a water was 5 euros!
and the owner was a nice man who mentioned to me they had an upstairs seating area, as the downstairs was all taken.
It was a small place, but sandwich was great and it was affordable!

“Great local food!”
Reviewed October 4, 2013 via mobile

If you're after a quick and reasonably priced lunch which tastes great then this is the perfect place! €4 for a freshly made warm panini that tastes amazing and €1.50 for wine to go with it! A couple of reviews moan about no table service, not many seats etc but if that's what you're after then you're in the wrong place! The staff are friendly and make the food fresh in front of you and it's definitely well worth the money!

“Nice place to stop for a moment”
Reviewed October 2, 2013

Found this place by chance and stopped for a quick drink. The lady (owner) was very pleasant and the glass of house wine and a piece of cake were a good price.

I agree with other reviewers that its a small place and I am not sure I would want to be there when its very busy, but for me, it was a good place to stop and people watch for a moment or two. Would love to sample the hot food/sandwiches as it all looked lovely.
