We traveled to this class right after a wedding. We were tired but excited. When we entered we were greated with a drink and bruschetta. We loved the class and would do it again. Our favorite part was the pizza making. Luca and Mario were awesome! They made everyone feel good! We loved the terminology and now "slap the baby" (no child was harmed in the pizza making process) at home. If you go to Florence you must go see Luca and the gang! Not to mention the pizza and gelato were fantastic!! Luca will always be a part of you, as will Italy!

This was an extremely organized, streamlined tour by Walkabout Tours. They had thought of everything ahead of time to get the most out of the day you spent with them. Our guides Alessandro and Gabriella were fabulous, could not have asked for any better....lots of fun and very informative. The hike was awesome and the villages were so picturesque. The ferry ride was an extra bonus.

Hands down my favorite most memorable part of our 9 day trip to Italy! I enjoy cooking and was a such nice quality time together, and so different from museums, nice hands on experience. Plus they email you all the gelato recipes and pizza recipe for you to make at home, we have already made three types of gelato since being home, nice to take part of Italy home with us and share with our family. If you are in Florence, book a cooking class with Walkabout, the farmhouse was amazing and had a beautiful view over Florence.

You meet at the Walkabout Florence office and then take about a 10 minute walk to meet the bus, and the farmhouse is only about a 15 minute drive away, and then walk about 5/10 minutes to reach the farmhouse. It was raining the day we were there, and Cris met us at the bus with umbrellas for anyone that needed one. Our teachers were Cris, Luca, and Luigi, and my husband and I had a class with a family of 5 from Canada and a couple on their honeymoon from California. We all had an amazing time! We started with gelato with Cris, learned the makeup of having the proper balance of liquid, solid, fats, and sugars to make the perfect recipe. We each made a different flavor, and then later we got to try all the varieties, best gelato we had in Italy and we had a ton. We then got to make pizza dough with Luigi and Luca, learning the steps and art of making the crust. And then each of us making our own pizza with whatever toppings and then watching it cook in like 90 seconds in the wood oven outside! We all then ate our pizzas together followed by gelato time and Cris recommend a bunch of different toppings pair with certain flavors of the gelato.

My husband who was not sure about a cooking class loved it, best pizza he has ever had and now wants to build our own pizza oven at home. And the sausage, oh my gosh best sausage we have ever had, wish we could have brought some of it back to Wisconsin with us. Plus we have been making at least one batch of gelato every week now as a a family, especially with us all at home during this weird Covid 19 world pandemic.

Cris, Luca, and Luigi were amazing teachers, and everyone just loves Luca, he will have you laughing for the whole class!

Honestly cannot recommend this company and class enough.
