As part of our Italian holiday we stayed in Florence but also wanted to walk the Cinque Terre trail. Walkabout tours offered us a great opportunity, to walk (part) of the trail with them as well as travel to Cinque Terre with our luggage.
By doing this we saved ourselves a couple of train rides, it was easy.
But to the tour... pick up at 08:00 in front of Florence train station, easy to find and the bus was waiting. A pleasant bus ride, with informative commentary by our guides Freddy & Sandra got us to Manorolo where we walked and then took a train to Corniglia from where we climbed the footpath known as Lardarina (377 stairs). At the top we walked to a small restaurant with a great view and an even greater lunch, delicious pesto pasta. From there we hiked 1 and a half hours on the track to Veranazza, not too hard and for those who can't there is always the train to take.
We had an hour there to do as we please then a train to Montorosso.
Because the weather was windy we didn't get to do the boat ride back to Riomaggiore but Freddy and Sandra treated us to a most acceptable alternative.
All in all a great day, very enjoyable and highly recommended.
But all this also due to Freddy and Sandra, compliments to you both.

We went on this tour yesterday and selected it based on TA reviews. Our hotel recommended another tour that was cheaper but did not include Pisa so we decided to go with Walkabout and this was a very good decision. The day was jammed packed and with only a couple of days in Florence we got to also see Tuscany countryside, Siena, Pisa, San Gimignano and enjoyed a delightful lunch in a winery, lots of information from Barbara, a delightful, professional guide. Siena tour guide, Dontella was so passionate about her hometown and was a joy to listen to. The whole team great, including our bus driver...quality!. So I am very happy to recommend this tour to fellow travellers.

This truly was the best of Tuscany in one day! Suzannen (our guide) was extremely efficient, helpful and cheerful.

My husband and I were recommeneded this tour from another Walkabout tour. We had previously gone on a Self Drive Vintage Fiat 500 tour in Florence which was great. We had previously gone on another tour that was as long as this but this one was definitely more fun. Our tour guide Elisa was great, funny, gave great stories about Florence and the guides in Siena and at the winery were good too.

The tour went to Siena, an organic farm with a winery, San Gimiango and Pisa. As with much of Italy be prepared for walking especially on inclines and slopes. The headsets we were provided with worked well to hear the guides. The farm was beautiful and the food was great as well, about 95% of the food you were served came directly from the farm. Part of the lunch included a wine tasting. Their gift shop area sold pasta, olive oil and the wines they produced. San Gimiagno was a great picturesque medival town where we had the world's best gelato at Gelateria Dondoli. Lots of different flavours and their staff were efficient so don't be deterred by the lines.

In Pisa we took a short train ride to enter the Piazza dei Miracoli(the area where the Leaning Tower and the Baptistery are). Lots of tourist stalls to buy souveniurs and of course lots of people taking pictures holding up the Leaning Tower.

This was a great fun filled tour and we're glad we took it. We wished we could have gotten more time to explore the different cities but we understand. It is a long day and you do get to see a lot as compared to if you were on your own. You do get about 30-45 minutes to explore on your own but you always just want to explore a little more when you're there. You have to pay a small fee to use the public toilets in San Gimiagno and Pisa between 50cents to 1 euro. But the toilets were all clean and well equipped with soap and toilet paper as there are attendants.

The bus was roomier than the last whole day tour we took so napping in between stops was more enjoyable. This was a great tour and would definitely recommend to anyone going to Florence.

Freddy and Sondra were very entertaining, funny, had great stories, and kept the tour organized, but not smothering. The towns and hike were breathtaking. Both guides had fascinating side stories along with interesting about the towns, as well as the countryside along the route to Cinque Terre. This a must see tour. I have also heard the other tour guides are as good as our two.
