Staff were very helpful and friendly and gave us great tips for dinner. The rooms are newly refurbished and clean, the beautiful old house is in a great location, just around the corner from the main sights. Everything is in walking distance, it's the perfect place for a stay in Florence!

Excellent stay in Florence at the Hotel Macchiaioloi. Staff were very helpful with all aspects of reservations and recommendations. Clean, well-appointed rooms in a beautiful building. We went on the 3 hour walking tour with Paolo, which we would highly recommend. He covered many items not in the tour books and was very knowledgable about history of Florence.

Thank you !!

Still Paolo one of the main attraction with his tours , this time with a Walking Tour :)

You say that he " covered many items not in the tour books ", well, this is exactly what a personal tour guide should do , bring century of life, history, art to life and you can hardly do it with a tour book :)

Thank you for sharing your experience.

Kind regards

My wife and I enjoyed our honeymoon in Italy last year, and especially so in Florence. The Hotel dei Macchiaiolo is so well located, just minutes away from the Duomo.
We started with a walking tour by Paolo, who was extremely informative and explained many of the sights of Florence and the historical significance to us. We also went on a private wine tour with Marco.
The hotel room was nice and big. Breakfast was good too.
Am going back to Florence again in a few weeks' time, and am looking forward to enjoying a stay at this nice hotel again!

Hotel rooms are clean, bathrooms are large considering european standards.
We are not big eaters but the breakfast specially their cherry tomatoes are incredible.
Adriana at the front desk was very helpful and friendly. Had wonderful recommendations for authentic restaurants in Florence. She helped us make a dinner reservation at one of the top restaurants in town. Hotel is located in an old historic building with nice paintings on the ceiling of the breakfast lounge. Will recommend staying there definitely.

Nice place, very friendly staff, great location. Recommend.

One small suggestion: Ironing board should be a real one that is freestanding, and not the mini- one that didn't really have any place to rest on.

Room tip: The suite with 2 rooms is a nice option with one large room and a smaller but fully decent other room, each having their own bathrooms.
