We are married in our young 60's on our first trip to Italy. This was a highlight of our trip. The location is about 20 minutes from the city so don't think you are being driven the wrong way. This hotel is set on on the Arno River and is just breathtaking to see anytime of the day, especially in the early morning when the sun rises. All the staff was so gracious, and the bartender will always have my heart for making me the best Manhattan in all my life. Incredible free breakfast as was the dinner the evening before - definitely exceeded expectations. Be sure to book the shuttle the day before, otherwise you may end up having to pay for a taxi. We could have saved about 20 euros if we knew about the shuttle upon our arrival in Florence so be sure to check on that. The rooms are very spacious and lovely and we had a wonderful bathroom. My only complaint is that we had to leave.

Room Tip: Our room was facing the river and it was wonderful.

Single double, upgraded to superior river view. The room was excellent. The stuff was very pleasant and kind. The hotel close to the city, excellent designed, beautiful details, peaces of art. Great architecture. The rates are value for money. The bar has a range of high brands of drinks. The restaurant has a cold atmosphere, i believe from the lights and the colours. I would suggest this hotel. Avoid the rooms near the street.

Room Tip: River view, upper floors, careful with the rooms near the street.

Stayed here early October to celebrate my wife's 40th. It was a great stay, the hotel is lovely and breakfast great. We ate dinner on two evenings and the food was fab too. But aside from a lovely hotel and great food, the staff were brilliant - very helpful and not intrusive at all. If you want a romantic getaway and to see Florence (a beautiful city) I don't think you'll better this. The free shuttle is a real bonus too but make sure you book the night before.

The only one downside was the pool was closed, I assume because it was a bit too cold for it - but it didn't spoil a thing.

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the river if you can

We stayed here for 4 nights on our honeymoon. It was our favorite part of the trip. The hotel is in a fantastice setting, right on the Arno in a quiet neighborhood outside Florence. It is perfect if you want an escape from the city. We were there in September, so the city was very crowded with tourists & chaotic. It was lovely to escape back to this peaceful haven. You will spend a bit of money on taxis back and forth. The hotel offers a shuttle bus, but the schedule does not always coincide with your plans. We had gorgeous weather, so we were able to enjoy the pool and patio area...which is lovely. The hotel itself is gorgeous with beautiful attention to detail. The staff is over the top courteous and helpful. Breakfast every morning was phenomenal. We ate dinner at the restaurant one night. It was a bit pricey, but the food was outstanding! I cant wait to return!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Room Tip: Ask for a river view room!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We have stayed in the Mulino in mid September. The place is stunning. It is a beautifully restored old mill with lots of artifacts spread throughout the hotel. I absolutely loved the location as it is close enough to Florence but away from the hustle and traffic. The pool was fantastic and I did not find any issues with it (as mentioned in some of the reviews). We had a room with a very nice view overlooking the Arno river. I found the room a bit small and not that bright. The bathroom on the other side was beautiful with a jetted bathtub next to the window overlooking the river, plush bath robes and nice toiletries. The bed was comfortable but the pillows are really hard. The highlight of this hotel is the restaurant. It has an extensive wine list and the food is outstanding. For us these were the best meals we had during our whole trip (try lobster pasta, the gnocchi, the zucchini flan which to dye for). Also the breakfast buffet is fantastic. It has many choices from eggs, cheese, cold cuts to fresh fruits, yogurt, cereals and heavenly pastries. However, what makes this place is its staff. From front desk to the restaurant staff to barman and bellman, everyone is very nice, always helpful, attentive , all really wonderful people (Grazie!). I was not that thrilled with Florence but if I ever go back it would only be because of Mulino di Firenze!

We stayed at the hotel on the front and back end of a trip to Italy. Hotel and location are just beautiful - a little oasis from the very busy city of Florence. We so enjoyed the setting ! The pool area is very nice --if you can fit it in. The breakfast is wonderful and we ate two evening meals both were excellent. Highly recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: We were in two different rooms one upstairs and one right beside the exit gate -- I was nervous abou...

This hotel is a oasis of peace and quiet, yet interesting with the river on its doorstep and very worth staying if visiting Florence; they have a shuttle bus towards centre and back (no extra cost)in the mornings and evenings. Very friendly staff, good breakfasts, lovely views from the windows and restaurant. Just very nice for a break. The pool is interesting in that it comes via the river and has an old mill wheel in it.

Room Tip: always have a river view as otherwise you miss out- the ones not overlooking the river might be nois...
