A pleasant evening on the other side of the river in Florence. The ambiance was inviting, warm and friendly. The servers were attentive and took the time to explain the various components of each dish. The recipes may (or may not) have been traditional but the presentation was beautiful and the combination of flavours was intriguing and truly delicious. I had the marinated octopus on a bed of mashed potatoes, it was flavorful and satisfying. My friend has a salted-cod patè and slices of black polenta with melted cheese...a wonderful combination of flavours. The main dishes consisted of the filet, cooked perfectly and the side dishes where perfect and the roasted pork with a honey glaze...totally new and savory.
We were treated to a creamed eggplant starter that had us pondering the mix of spices and flavours...and the owner proudly offered a slice of home made cheese cake, which had my friend over the moon with delight.
Perfect for friends looking to relax, couples for a bit of romance and those looking for creative, flavourful combinations of food that are really worth eating.
They offer good vegetarian alternatives.
