“One of the High Points of Our Visit to Florence!”

We ended our visit to Florence with this day trip to the Chianti region. It was great to see two different vineyards and wineries in Chianti and Chianti Classico DOCG regions. The guide was very personable and knowledgable and the presenters at the wineries were excellent. I like that it included regional olive oil and cheese and a visit to the Antica Macelleria cecchini for an excellent lunch.

“Excellent tour!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 31, 2014

Just returned home from Italy and first thing to do was review Tuscan Tours. I have done tours in California, Finger Lakes, Chile, and Argentina. My first thought was a wanted a tour with three wine stops but Tuscan talked me into doing their Chianti trip with two wineries. I don't regret it for one second. The drive is a bit far, you can look into their trips from Siena if you would like more wine tour options. The Chianti trip is focused on Sangiovese wines, although the wineries will let you try their IGT wines (mixed with Cabernet and/or Merlot). If Cabernet wines is your thing, I would suggest you go on a Brunello tour.

The drive to the first winery was very scenic and if you would like a picture they don't hesitate to stop for you. The winery selections were great, the food was amazing and Ilaria (our tour guide) was super amazing. For lunch we stopped at a small town and had lunch at Dario Cecchini's restaurant and butcher shop (who you probably know from the Food Network). As if wine tasting wasn't enough, I know people that have paid to go to Dario's without the wine tour.

I rate them first class. They had excellent follow up and encouraged group interaction, we met some great new friends on the trip.

“Beautiful country-side, very educational and fantastic wine!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 28, 2014

What a fabulous day! The two places visited for wine tasting were fantastic, and I liked how they were quite different too; one a larger scale operation (not too big) and the other one, a small family-run business. Pierre, the guide was very informative and fun as well. The stop for lunch was amazing as was the drive through the lovely country-side. Would recommend this to anyone looking for a day trip out of Florence to taste some fantastic wine and food!

“Best tour, EVER”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 28, 2014

Four of us just savored the Super Tuscan Tour. Our guide Matteo was the best, knowledgeable, funny, engaging, everything you'd want. Our small van had six for our tour, but would hold 8 maximum, so the tour is small. The wineries were outstanding, but the highlight was lunch with Dario Cecchini in his famous butchery. The meal, featuring much meat (they can accommodate vegetarians) was splendid beyond measure. Even for those who've toured wineries before, this is a great choice, since the one's you visit are small, not at all commercial, and the views are splendid in themselves. We were in parts of Chianti that I never would have found my myself. 150% recommended. The only thing to keep in mind is that they leave from a location that's about a 20 minute walk from the center of Florence, but easily gotten to by taxi if you prefer to not walk.

“AMAZING day in Chianti!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 27, 2014

My husband and I recently went on the Super Chianti Wine Tour with Matteo, a sommelier who grew up in Tuscany. He was a very professional guide with a great sense of humor and a lot of knowledge about the subject matter. Matteo's English was great and we learned a lot about the region, wines, and winemaking in general.

We (with 5 others in our group) visited two wineries/farms in Chianti and Chianti Classico where we tasted many wines, cheeses, and olive oils. The small producers that we visited had tables set up for us, which was very welcoming and made the experience feel personalized and special. We also had an outstanding (and huge) lunch cooked for us with classic Tuscan dishes as well as a few house specialties. We have been on several wine tours previously and this was by far the best. At first we were hesitant because this trip was expensive but we have no regrets—it was worth every euro!
