The hotel we stayed in recommended this place. first night we tried, they were already closed (dinner in Italy, especially in small restaurants is 7 pm to 9 pm, and we came after 9 pm). second night proved to be more successful- we ordered pastas and some side dishes with the house wine. everything was fresh, really good quality (esp. the chesse). the place was filled with locals and tourists alike. we even sat nect to a Canadian couple that told us they drove especially to eat in this place.
night after that, we came in again, this time for pasts as entree and fiorentina steak for the main course, with potatoes and spinach on the side. everything was so, so good, and the staff really tried to understand and accomodate our needs (i'm pregnant, so no rare meat for me).
when i asked about their lemon cake for dessert, i was told they were out, but the lady found a last (and smaller piece) and brought it to me.
great food, service, quality and price. if i could, i would have returned.
a side note- we spent 4 nights in florence, and were generally disappointed with all food offerings in the center. stay in a hotel outside the center, and get a better price and better food options
