We stayed here for our honeymoon. The people were nice, the hotel was beautiful and the views were amazing. The hotel’s location was great, next to good restaurants and about a 20 minute walk from the main places to visit. The rooms were spacious!

The staff was very friendly and helpful with restaurant recommendations and bookings. Breakfast is FABULOUS! The terrace overlooking Santo Spirito square was absolutely breathtaking! Great location within walking distance of most sights and close to many great restaurants. AC was ok, not great. But we highly recommend this hotel for your stay in Florence! On the downside, the safe in our room wasn't bolted down (anyone could pick it up easily and leave with it).

Room tip: Ask for a room with a bolted down safe

Palazzo Guadagni: The Palazzo Guadagni is a unique and charming hotel, well located in central Florence. What a pleasure to sip an aperol spritz in a comfy chair on the veranda, looking out over the rooftops of this amazing city. The breakfast was sumptous, and our room was spacious and furnished with antiques. That goodness for the air conditioning in the middle of a summer heat wave. Overall, a most pleasant experience.
The only drawback is the lack of an elevator to rooms on the upper floor. The views are sensational, but lugging big suitcases ups two flights of narrow stairs is a real chore. The hotel would do well to at least have some bellmen to help older guests.

Room tip: The best views from hotel rooms are located on the upper floor, but there is no elevator. The climb is steep.

We were looking for old-world charm in a hotel away from the tourist masses on the other side of the river, and this hotel fit the bill. The location was perfect, being right on a lively square and yet with closed windows the rooms were silent for sleeping at night. The balcony was a great spot to relax in the evening when it was cooler, and soak in the lovely views of the city - too hot in the day during our July visit. And we loved having a variety of places to eat right at our doorstep, since we were so exhausted at the end of the day, it was wonderful to just cross the piazza and find dinner. We particularly enjoyed the Osteria Santo Spirito, great food and atmosphere at reasonable prices. Our only complaint was the air conditioning. In one room it was working very well and the two of us who stayed in that room were very comfortable. However, in the second room it was essentially not working at all. Florence is very hot in the summer, and we were there during a heat wave. The staff provided that room with a fan, which made it almost bearable at night, but during the day when we wanted to rest from touring, we all had to congregate in the cooler room. The staff did call a repairman to clean the vents and repair the air conditioner, but it never worked as well as in the other room. The placement of the a/c unit in that room was not ideal and this could have contributed to the problem; nevertheless even after the repair a fan was still necessary, and we were not really very comfortable sleeping. Changing rooms was impossible since the hotel was completely booked. It would have been nice if the hotel had discounted the price of this room. (Although I did receive an overall discount for paying my bill in cash, an extra discount for this uncomfortable room would have been appreciated). The staff members at this hotel were all very attentive and we appreciated their efforts to make our stay pleasant.

We stayed for 5 days and were very impressed, from check in to check out the entire staff couldn't have performed better. Every person we interacted with was polite and helpful. They have a very nice Veranda surrounding 2 sides of the hotel, very nice for a sunset cocktail. the Wi-Fi was not very good but the staff made up for it. Great location away from the crowds with several good restaurants within steps of the hotel. Great stay.
