“Recommended by a local - and it lived up to the hype!”
Reviewed December 28, 2013

We were recommended this restaurant by our wine tour guide who was born and raised in Tuscany. The food was awesome and the service was even better. The owner took a break from his singing to visit our table and offered us some fresh parmesan to go with the rest of our wine after dinner. Good local wine selection and very reasonably priced. This is a more casual restaurant; not the place for a quiet, candlelit dinner. We will go back if we visit Florence again.

“Great food, super Pizza”

This was fantastic value and really authentic despite being so close to the tourist area. It was recommended to us as being a local restaurant for locals. It did not disappoint

“Tuscan cuisine”
Reviewed October 3, 2013

A fantastic little restaurant that served very good food. Since the menu only was in Italian we had to chance a little with very positive experience.

“Fantastic!!!”
Reviewed August 26, 2013

The name translates to "Tavern of the insane." I speak Italian and asked about the name - I noticed there were some bottles around on shelves with some "interesting" historical characters on the labels. I thought maybe they were the "pazzi." I was told, very pleasantly, that they were indeed pazzi (insane) but that's not where the name came from. I never did get an answer. The owner sang as he seated us, basically making the song up as he went. Maybe he's the pazzo?!! Anyway, the food was amazing. I had a Tuscan steak that could've choked a horse, and got quite a few admiring looks from others in the restaurant when I was able to polish it off! Come here for authentic Florentine food and great local ambiance.
