“A refuge from the heat but disappointing”
Reviewed August 5, 2012

The shady interior is a certainly welcome respite from the searing sun on the Piazza dei Pitti. But service can be perfunctory bordering on surly and the food is only standard with some veggie choices. You just feel it's a shame someone can't shake up this place - it's got great potential. The owner should visit Il Santo Bevitore to see how it should be done.

“Best Panini in Firenze”
Reviewed July 30, 2012

We were looking for a place Sunday at 2:30p.m for a quick lunch and discovered this gem in front of Pitti Palace. This is a truffle shop next door to Caffe Pitti and they sell cheese and salami plates, but specially amazing Paninis.

Please note that Panini is normally served cold and specially here due the quality of the meets, cheese and truffle oil and spread you want to taste the full flavor of the sandwich. In USA the term panini referes to pressed tosted sandwich which is not the case in Italy. If you like a good prosciutto, salami and pecorino cheese with a touch of truffle cream, stop reading and run to this place. The service is very nice too.

“Good for truffle menu only”
Reviewed July 17, 2012

The truffle menu is awesome... Fresh white truffles in good quantity on every dishes.
The rest of the menu is not as good. The wine selection is ok. the service could be better.
Go there for the truffle menu or pick another restaurant.
4 stars for the truffle menu.

“Worst meal we had in Italy”
Reviewed July 9, 2012

I've noticed in Italy that the restaurants with the best views have the worst food. This has an marvelous view of Pitti Palace but Pitti Palace, although massive! Is pretty plain. The waiter was very apologetic but it was a wasted opportunity to have another delcios Tuscan meal. If you're an foodie you'll hate this place.

“Location, location”
Reviewed July 6, 2012 via mobile

Located directly across from Pitti Palace was ideal for us. July is unsurprisingly hot but the Boboli Gardens were surprisingly unkept. We were so disappointed, hot and tired that stumbling across the street was all we could manage. Our food was good and the .5ml pitcher of wine was exactly what we needed. Left happy and refreshed!
