The hotel is located near the railway station at the piazza santa maria and thus is at a walking distance from some of the main attractions of Florence like Cathedral and Piazza Republica.

The flip side of the hotel is that the rooms are very small. I was in a single room for two nights and it was one of the smallest rooms I have stayed in. However, it seems that almost all hotels in the vicinity have similar room size. Two of my friends who were staying in Hotel Alinari nearby were of the opinion that this hotel is much cleaner than their's.

It would also be worth mentioning that the hotel does not have a restaurant and only serves basic breakfast in the morning. You would have to necessarily have to go out to have a lunch or dinner.

Our first stop in Italy was Florence. The hotel was a nondescript door on the Piazza del Santa Maria. When we finally spotted it we were a bit nervous, but once inside all doubt went away. The hotel was modern and beautiful with old world charm. The rooms were very comfortable with small but good bathrooms. The breakfast was plentiful, though we did have to specifically ask for water for tea. The front desk staff was generally great, depending on who was on duty. Felipe was our favorite. I would definitely stay in this hotel again.

Hotel was clean and efficiently run. Our room was large and had a beautiful frescoed ceiling which added some Florentine charm to a more modern styled hotel. Breakfast was good with a wide selection. Wifi service was expensive, and there were no tea/coffee facilities in the room. Clocks didn't work anywhere apparently! Hard floor surfaces led to a bit of noise from the rooms above us; it wasn't hugely annoying but could disturb light sleepers. Restaurant next door was expensive, but other restaurants nearby offer better food for lower prices. Conveniently located for walking everywhere in Florence.

The hotel is only 10min walk (petite-asian-walk) which is very convenience and the room was very clean and modern. It was quite small but it’s ok if you and partner only need to get sleep and spend whole day sightseeing (if you are with kid, please check if they have bigger room). Wifi is chargeable at Eur6 per day. However I think the room is not sound-proof enough as at night I could hear the next room guest walking, switching on/off etc. But I was really tired and not bother about the sound. Breakfast was really great with lot of selection. They helped to pack my breakfast as I had to leave early.

This hotel is in a good location and within walking distance to city centre and train station (convenient for those transferring from airport to city centre by bus and those taking excursions). Breakfast was sufficient and some staff at reception was more helpful and friendly than others. Shower cubicle is way too small even for a petite lady like me. Toiletries in the room was insufficient and if they could provide cups, tissue paper, body lotion and more body wash/shampoo, it would make this hotel a much more pleasant stay.

The rooms are too small. The breakfast is very poor and the amenities almost didn't exist. It is an expensive hotel in regard of what it offers. The good is that it is near the city centre and all the sightseeing of the town

I stayed at Rosso 23 in Florence for business, and I was fairly pleased overall. The room was a bit small (my husband stayed with me for a couple of nights, and that made the cozy room feel even more snug (and he noticed the shower's almost inconvenient smallness more than I did), but especially with just me - or if two of us were in a larger room - Rosso 23 was really pretty nice. I would stay there again.

The staff at the front desk were very friendly, helpful, and considerate. Our room was very clean and comfortable, and the hotel was very conveniently located - near the train station, and near numerous attractions in Florence. The wifi connection in the room was somewhat unreliable, but it was usable (this would have been more frustrating if the wifi had not been included in the room rate, as mine was).

Overall, especially given the low rate paid for the room, I was satisfied with my stay at Rosso 23.
