“Home away from home!”

My daughter and I stayed at Residenza Betta for 2 weeks while in Florence. From the first warm welcome, Betta, the owner, became not only a friend, but an invaluable source of information for our stay, especially regarding the various must-see day trips. Her English is perfect and her advice, priceless. Residenza Betta is conveniently located, only a 15 minute walk both to the center or to the SMN Train Station. We were provided with clean, spacious rooms, comfortable beds, cool air-conditioning and a lovely breakfast each morning. Having a take-out dinner on the lovely balcony in the evenings when it cooled down was just icing on the cake. Choosing Residenza Betta was the best decision we made!

We stayed here for one night July 2012 but I wished we could have stayed longer. The owner was lovely in making us feel welcome in Florence and her bed and breakfast. We were pleased to learn that the airco worked perfectly, that we had a very nice clean bathroom, cable television and above all a lovely little balcony great for a drink on a warm Italian evening. What makes this place great as well is the fact that its a little away from the hustle and bustle of Florence city centre but still it's just close enough (we did everything on foot). Moreover the owner, Elisabetta, was extremely helpful regarding the city highlights. I would not doubt if I were staying in Florence again :)

My partner and I stayed here for 4 nights during our trip to Florence. The rooms were excellent value for money - we had air con, cable tv, our own bathroom. All very clean (and rooms were even cleaned daily during our stay) and tastefully decorated. It was an easy 15 minute walk to the major sites such as the Duomo. I would recommend this without hesitation. But the main reason our stay was so wonderful was Betta. She managed to book our tickets to the Uffizi and Academia so we wouldn't have to spend ages waiting. Also our luggage had been lost on arrival into Italy by this time of a good 5 days. Without any prompting from us we received a call on our second evening Florence from Betta to say that she had spoken to the airport and our luggage would be delivered the next morning! We are so grateful to Betta for making our stay so homely and enjoyable and for all the tips she had on what to see round town.

I came to Florence with my Mother as part of our whirlwind trip of Tuscany.
We arrived into Firenze SN train station from Pisa Airport and were slightly muddled about how to get to the B&B. We used the directions from the web page and unfortunately we ended up following the driving directions, so our 15min walk ended up taking 45!! This is our only fault with the B&B (unclear directions on the web).

Betta greeted us with open arms and the warmest welcome. Our twin room was light and airy. It had a small terrace, no great view, but quiet and sunny. There was also Sky TV (English channels available), A/C and a comfortable and very clean bathroom.

As it was our 1st time to florence, Betta got the maps out and gave me a run down of what's what and where's where. She helped us book a day trip with guide to Siena and San Gimingano. She also helped us with the local buses and trains.

Don't forget to validate all bus & train tickets; Validate your train ticket on the platforms in the automated machines, even if you have just purchased it. On the buses, there is a machine just behind the driver. Fines can be around 40/50 Euros per person. We witnessed a few tourists getting confused with the validation and some were fined by ticket inspectors!

As a vegetarian the breakfast at Betta's was delightful, fresh warm croissants, bread, toast, cheeses, rice cakes, fruit, cereals yoghurts etc. There was ham available for those who do eat meat, although I can't comment on if it was tasty or not!

Were were very sad to leave Florence and even sadder to say good bye to Betta. She really did go that extra mile to ensure we enjoyed our experience. Thank you Betta for a wonderful time.

Room Tip: Get a room with a terrace, well worth it.

We, as a family with a 2-year-old toddler, stayed in Residenza Betta for our trip to Florence in May. Betta gave us a very warm welcome and a surprise. We originally requested a double-room with a baby cot. Upon arrival, we found ourselves in the "library" room, which was HUGE. The location of the B&B is great, even our host in Florence thought so. Because it is not far from the city center, but away from the crowd. Betta recommended 2 very good restaurants for us to eat. We really had a good time with her. Will definitely go back when we return to Florence in the future.

I stayed in this B&B for one night after a hot and dusty journey from Volterra. The greeting from the hotel proprietor Betta was one of the best I have ever had, she took her time to show us where to go in Florence for the short period of time we had there. The rooms were spacious and very well equipped, breakfast perfect. I could not recommend this accommodation more, you could not ask for more in this beautiful city. Other bonus features include free wifi and Sky television, air conditioning and our room had a lovely balcony. What more can you ask for?
