“Made my heart and soul sing and dance: 2 day Chianti bike tour.”
Reviewed October 29, 2010

With Barbara Barrett as our tour guide my heart and soul were singing and dancing as we rode our bikes through Chianti. Barbara was an excellent bike guide as well as wine and olive oil tour guide. She is very passionate, knowedgeable and inspiring. The bike ride takes you through the hills of Tuscany, through small villages and to an amazing winery/solive oil factory where we were fed delicious food and tasted local wine. Our accomodations were lovely and once again we were served local food, fresh vegies, and pasta, as well drinking the local wines. We were lucky and on the second day as we entered Panzano there was a Macelleria Sagra (Butcher shop festival). We also biked through Greve and a few other villages. This was one of the high points of my trip to Italy. I will sign up for this tour again!!!

“Not exactly as expected”
Reviewed October 25, 2010

Scenery was beautiful and lunch was fabulous! However this is not a ride for anyone even mildly interested in the biking part of the experience. The day of our scheduled trip (when we expected a group of no more than 20 riders) we were surprised to have 49 riders with only one guide! As a result, there were too many starts and stops to make sure that the group stayed together. If you decide to do this trip get some kind of guarantee of the maximum group size.

Dear Tripmom,

we appreciate the time and effort you have spared to give us this review. We always accept all reviews as an essential element in our strive to continually maintain and exceed expectations, as well as provide the highest standards on our tours.

I am glad you liked and enjoyed our bike tour in the Tuscan countryside.
I am actually surprised by what you say about the group size, since it is not at all true.
I can guarantee that our groups are usually no bigger than 20 riders, as you first say.
The times we've been more than 20, we've always had at least 2 guides on the tour.
No doubt about this.

Looking forward to welcoming you back to Florence and to one of our other tours.

Best regards
Edoardo Giacometti

What a great day we had on this trip, never ridden a bike alone before, this was all new to me but was, so much fun the guides were great and so helpful, Steve was lovely and helped us all the way, stopped at great spots to see the fantastic views, lunch was all you dream of from a winery and more, we loved it all and would higly recommend it to anyone beginners and all, one of the high lights of our trip.
