Our teacher, Catalina was wonderful. She taught us how to make our own dough and how to manipulate the dough. It was a lot of fun. We had no part in making the pizza sauce. Only the dough and putting the sauce and cheese and toppings of our choice on the pizza. Honestly, I was disappointed in the taste of the dough and the pizza sauce. But that is not the fault of our teacher, that is on the cooking school.
Catalina also taught us how to make gelato and how to buy it as well and what kind to stay away from on the streets. S he was very informative. The gelato was very rich and yummy. However, it wasnt a frozen delight. It was more like a cold pudding.
The walk to and from the class was too long for both ways and took up a lot of class time. Also, it was a bit uncomfortably warm inside. I guess we in the USA are spoiled with air conditioning. There was a nice big fan going but it made it hard for me to hear the teacher because I was right next to it. The school was clean and comfortable otherwise. The wine was wonderful.Catalina was so fun and you can tell she loves what she does because she is very passionate about her food and the teaching. All in all, it's a fun class and a nice way to interact with other people. However, not the greatest pizza or gelato. Again, I dont blame that on the teaching. That's what the school gives her to work with. But I would recommend this class, especially if Catalina is teaching it!
