Mati at the reception was very lovely and sweet. By far one of the best hosts ever. The hostel itself was fairly clean and quiet, conveniently located near the train station. Our room had a nice partial view of the Florence Cathedral and the bathroom was quite big and clean. The downsides were few although they were there. For example, as many have mentioned, there's quite a bit of stairs to climb. Good for burning all them carbs. Also, the hostel itself is a bit hard to find at first and in general it could be a bit livelier.
But if you're looking for a nice clean, quite place with friendly staff and a great location I definitely recommend this place!

Two nights in May in a double room overlooking awesome square with old cathedral.

Plus points:

5 mins walk from main train station. Easy!

Bang in the centre of all the action with cafes restaurants bars and the market on the doorstep

Double room is huge with comfy bed and excellent bathroom

Clean tidy and everything you need.

Breakfast served at tables, toast cereal coffee juice etc.

Very friendly & helpful staff

3 flights of stairs gives great rooftop views across the city

Outdoor smoking/drinks terrace

Bad points

3 flights of stairs to climb

Very noisy outside due to location & market below, back rooms may be better but then u get no view!

Not the cheapest price but you get what you pay for!

That's all - would stay again next time and recommend to anyone visiting Florence!

I was upgraded to a larger room which was a plus. The staff were very friendly with breakfast put on each morning. The hostel is centrally located and a short walk to food, leather markets, the main shopping district as well as plenty of tourist spots.

The wifi wasn't that great but did work.

The hostel is up three very steep flights of stairs and there is no elevator as it is in an older building. Carrying heavy bags up can be difficult - that is more of a warning to others than a criticism of the hostel.

Good location. Comfortable non-bunk beds. Not enough power points. Broken toilet seat. Sufficient hostel breakfast (coffee, biscuits, toast, jams). Borderline rude staff. Weird loud noises in the morning, possibly the hot water units. Yes, there are stairs.

The hostel is located directly in the center of Florence near all the major attractions, markets, train and bus stations. The hostel offers free breakfast which includes only toast, ginger cookies and coffee/tea but when it is free- you can't really complain. It is very clean due to the fact that they have a 3 hour lockout period- which they enforce in the nicest way possible. All the staff is very friendly and helpful.

Due to is amazing location and friendly environment I would recommend this hostel to solo travelers, friends, couples and families.

I would definitely return to the hostel if come back to Florence- which I will likely and hopefully do in the near future
