This flat feels like a real home - there are lots of books, cds, well equiped kitchen and of course the piano. The piano was really why we chose it in fact as well as its location near Eurocentre language school in Santo Spirito. We were very happy here for three weeks and the piano got a daily workout from my musician daughter. Easy walk into the busy centre but far enough away to enjoy a local neighbourhood. Good buses in daytime although the best ones stop quite early but if your legs wear out there are always taxis back at night if you go far afield. The location is great - the road is fairly busy in the daytime but quiet at night. Plenty of local shops and restaurants. Like most Italian apartments you are in close proximity to your neighbours - can hear them across the inner well, cooking,TV etc but it usually died down at a reasonable time and is just part of city living here. The bathroom was huge - very unusual for Italy. Water pressure variable - best to shower outside peak times - typical of Italian plumbing. You do need to be good at stairs but George very kindly helped us with all our luggage at both ends. He was very prompt to reply to any questions and a perfect host. We loved it here.
After weeks of hostels, touristy rentals and underwhelming hotels, this apartment was a breath of fresh air. Its location, tucked away on a beautiful street, lends itself perfectly to both exploring all Florence has to offer and indulging in necessary afternoon naps. Additionally, we were there in June- what a relief (and a rarity) to have AC!
George could not have been a more gracious host. His extensive knowledge of the city helped us find the best of everything: art, scenery, and gelato! We will certainly be staying here again the next time we find ourselves in Italy.
This apartment is perfect for anyone looking to stay in Florence. The price, combined with the location, makes it an ideal place to stay. We loved the location because we were able to get the best of both worlds. You can walk to everything (ex: The Ponte Vecchio in 5 minutes) for site seeing but the neighborhood is quiet and away from tourists.
The apartment had everything we needed and more, including the washer and AC, which was extremely helpful during the summer. George is also a very attentive owner and he went above and beyond to ensure that we had a positive experience. I would recommend this apartment to any person who is looking to visit Florence.
First of all, not only is this apartment fantastic, but it comes with an added bonus of a fabulous and attentive owner, George! My family came to Florence looking for a little more space - we had been staying all together in 1 room in Rome and Positano and George's place offered us the space for everyone to have their own room, shut down and decompress at the mid-way mark of our 2 week trip. It was exactly what we needed. This apt has a great kitchen too and in hindsight we wish we had taken advantage of cooking in one night instead of going out. Right across the street is an awesome market with fresh fruit and vegetables. And an amazing patisserie is just a few doors down where we got our fresh croissants each morning. We were right next door to the Bobili Gardens and near the Pitti and a short walk over the bridge that linked us to the main city centre of Florence. This apt is convenient to everything and SOOO quiet at night. George has all the amenities you could need, TV, Netflix, Air Con, a folder full of nearby places to see and restaurant suggestions - he really is better than a concierge!! And totally available - all our questions were answered within minutes. We were a family of 3- this place was perfect for us. Thank you, George, for sharing your beautiful place with us and for being our "Travel Angel" We look forward to visiting the bella Firenze again soon!
Wow, the apartment is amazing but what really was great is George. He met us at our assigned place and helped my husband park the car. George checked in daily to tell us the car is safe and no worries. There was four adults and we were able to have our own space in this sunny and spacious apartment. The apartment is located in a neighborhood where after a day we felt like we were locals. We would shop at the local butcher, bakery and ate at the pizza restaurant. George gave a lot of recommendations of where to eat and what day trips would be good. The apartment was loaded with maps and tour books which we used every day. I'm looking forward to visiting Florence again and hopefully staying at this same place.
George's apartment is delightful and a perfect base for anyone wishing to explore the stunning historic centre of Florence. Furthermore, being located near the Pitti Palace also means being able to retreat from all the crowds at the end of the day! Once inside, one is truly able to feel at home in this spacious well equipped apartment. And the stunning Yamaha Grand Piano is a massive bonus for the serious musician and pianist! George is on hand to help with any issues that arise and is nothing but friendly and supportive and enthusiastic. This is a wonderful place to stay, in one of the most incredible cities in Europe and I am already looking forward to my next visit.
This is an ideally located apartment, away from the tourist areas in a neighborhood of local shops where we were quickly welcomed as friends. The apartment itself was very spacious and comfortable for four adults and allowed us to unpack and really feel at home. We had the option to eat in after shopping at the local butcher, package store and pasticceria that George pointed out; and the chance to do laundry mid-week and the apartment was stocked with a full library of travel books that we used extensively.
George is an accommodating host, meeting us for early check-in, helping us park, suggesting travel destinations and restaurants and helping to arrange for our early morning taxi to the airport.
I would highly recommend this property and only wish we could have stayed longer!
