What more can you ask for? And right around the corner from the Duomo. I ate there 3 of the 4 nights I was in town - it was recommended by Marco, owner of the hotel Dali. A half carafe of red wine, a plate of ragu and salad for uner 20 euros? C'mon!

Uncle Gigi creates his own atmosphere from his singing. The food was great. There was four of us so we were able to try lots of things on the menu. A couple litres of the house wine, still couldn't believe how little the cost was. Good thing it was our turn to buy.

The food here is definitely way below average and not fresh. As is the service. Tables that were supposed to be reserved (as we were not allowed to sit there) earlier, became at anybodies disposal later on. Comments were not appreciated by the staff. If you are already seated: do not take a look into the refrigerators if you don't want to spoil your appetite. Visit Brac next time for an example of some real fresh pasta.

We spotted this down a narrow lane, hoping to find somewhere less touristy than on the main squares - we struck lucky! Great fun, with Gigi singing loudly from time to time, good service, English speaking, lots of food - my bruschetta, then grilled salmon both very good. It felt like somewhere frequented by locals - a table laid out for 14 was filled after we arrived with a group containing 6 nuns and looked like a big family celebration. And no wine list - just bottles on shelves around the room and a waiter happy to recommend something - we requested Montepulciano and were delighted with our 18EUR bottle... a good value meal. The only slight downer was that my husband had asked for his steak medium, and it was very rare. However, he did say it was delicious. I think they only do rare steak in Florence, which suits me, but not everyone.
