“I cannot imagine a better place and location with more gracious hosts to experience Florence than B&B Monte Oliveto.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 6, 2010

Our family of 5, along with another family of 4, had the special and wonderful experience at staying at B&B Monte Oliveto in Florence this past August 2010. The B&B was exquisite, comfortable and very well located. You can take a leisurely 15 to 20 minute walk and find yourself on the Ponte Vecchio and in the heart of Florence. The rooms were spacious, clean and wonderfully decorated. The breakfasts were delicious and were served in a lovely garden patio. The hosts, Donatella and Nicolo, are lovely, refined and very friendly people. Donatella's knowledge, enthusiasm and helpfulness made the experience of staying at Monte Oliveto and of exploring Florence that much better. We would highly recommend Monte Oliveto to anyone who wishes to experience Florence in comfort and style at rates that are very reasonable and fair. We intend to return to Florence and when we do we will be returning to Monte Oliveto. That's for certain!

Stayed at Monte Oliveto for 3 nights. 2 nights in Wisteria and 1 night in Sage room, due to availability. Very acommodating owner, Donatella who even went to the pharmacy for us as soon as we arrived as our 2 year old had an eye infection. So helpful and thoughtful, thank you. Gave good restaurant reccommendations and directions into Florence (15/20 min walk to main attractions) Rooms were a good size, modern and newly refurbished. Room with own bathroom was ideal size if travelling with a child, the balcony was an added bonus for us too.Would definitely return and send others your way.

B & B Mount Oliveto is Within easy walking distance of the rail station and historic center of Florence. Our room was spacious, Beautifully appointed and - like a provincial Italian home. The bed was very comfortable. Both the bedroom and bathroom Were super clean!
Donatella is a wonderful host! Plenty of good food for breakfast. She recommended and made reservations for us at excellent restaurants Within walking distance of the B & B. One night we Walked to the corner market - Bought and local beer and ate sandwiches on her lovely terrace.
We look forward to Our next visit!

It's true ... this tiny hotel is a true treasure in the heart of a busy city. Beginning with Donatella's welcome into her home (and that' what it feels like) at an ungodly hour after a late flight to her daily greeting with home crafted pastries, wonderful suggestions of what to see and do, the beautiful garden outside your room. I can go on, but you have to experience this.

My boyfriend and I stayed here, and it was wonderful from the moment we walked in the door. The hostess, Donatella, immediately offered her site-seeing and dining suggestions. All of her recommendations were great. There was a fresh breakfast every morning with lots of seconds if we wanted. The location was perfect for those travelers who want to stay within walking distance of the center without being in the middle of the hustle and bustle; there is also convenient parking on the same street.

I've been in Monteoliveto in early April 2010. I've staid in the single room Mimosa. The toilet was clean and comfortable; only minus: it was shared with another room. All the rest was fantastic! Breakfast with chocolate cake, cookies, fruit juice, etc... Donatella is a very good host, she'll give you all the right advices to visit the city: reservations, highlights, etc. Palazzo Pitti is 15 minutes walk from b&b. Room was cleaned and comfortale, with WiFi internet free connection. Absolutely recommended!!

Wonderful place to stay. Our family (2 teen girls and parents) occupied the Wistaria and Sage rooms. Donatella was a warm and friendly hostess who made us feel right at home. She also prepared a delicious morning meal for us and gave us information about nearby restaurants for the evening. We were able to walk from the house to the main part of the city for all sight-seeing (although it could be a bit far for some). We would welcome the chance to stay at Monte Oliveto again when we return to Florence one day.
