Reviewed April 13, 2014

The fact we had to book for 3 nights later shows how popular this is: excellent food, very reasonable in price, and delightful staff

“Amazing”
Reviewed April 5, 2014

The demand to eat at this place is so great that it is nearly impossible to get in without a reservation. It is a very small place, and in order to maximize the number of people served you may have to share a table with others (this is not an unusual practice in Florence). We were two for dinner and sat with 3 other people (locals). The food at this place is amazingly delicious. We ordered a liter of house red wine and first course of ravioli with pesto and a wide pasta tube stuffed with zucchini flower. For seconds we had baccala alla livornese and a stuffed cabbage with a stuffing of meat ball. When you taste the food at this restaurant, you understand why it is always so busy, the taste is outstanding. My wife and I shared a dessert that was gelato inside a filo dough pastry shell with powder sugar on top and had an espresso. A wonderful evening! We would here every day if we could. The cost of all these 53 euros.

“One night, one chance....best choice!”
Reviewed April 3, 2014

We are in Florence for only one night and chose this as our dinner spot. We couldn't have made a better choice. The food was exceptional and the service was very inviting and fun. They made it feel like you were having dinner with family. We had ravioli with pesto and meat balls and potatoes. Both were very good. I would definitely recommend going and make a reservation to guarantee your table.

“Lovely authentic food, simple menu, efficient staff”
Reviewed April 2, 2014

My family of three had a lovely meal here on our second night in Florence. It is very close to our accommodation in Piazza Della Signoria so we just popped in during the day and booked a table, which seems to be necessary as most nights they have a sign on the door that they are fully booked.
The waiter who took our booking remembered me by name on arrival which I thought was very clever. We were served efficiently and pleasantly, he was a little humorous which was fine with us, but perhaps not to everyone's liking.
We shared a couple of appetisers, some lovely salami and proscuitto which was freshly sliced and lovely mozzarella.
For our next course we all chose a pasta, the duck ragu was the pick, it was absolutely delicious, buttery and seasoned perfectly, although the zucchini flower pasta and fresh tomato were also great.
Our mains were a very tender fried beef with spinach, a stuffed artichoke that I enjoyed immensely and the best of all, the lovely roast lamb with potatoes. The lamb was cooked to perfection, however the potatoes were a little soggy and disappointing.
For dessert we shared the raspberry tiramisu, which contained no coffee, but was really lovely and quite refreshing.
All in all a lovely meal in a very quaint restaurant.
