Beautiful, hip restaurant. Not "traditional" Italian. Waitress recommended the 5 course fixed menu: 5 best dishes of the 10 years BSJ. We were expecting the best of the best.... Not so much. The anchovy & zucchini course was almost disgusting... way too much salt including the zucchini. Not sure how anybody can ruin zucchini? We are not unaccustomed to less than traditional food... but we were definitely wondering who told the chef that these were her "best" creations ever?! Maybe the a la carte choices are better. Service was great. So was the sommelier & the wines.
PS... the view of the Ponte Vecchio is limited to 2 outdoor tables and only the two people facing the bridge :) The outdoor patio is tiny, 4 tables for 2, very close together...

We had a most wonderful lunch ON the Arno...seated on the restaurant balcony beside the river!
The ambience was truly divine...very quiet...cool on a hot day...the food was very good. The service was a wee bit slow...about 2 hours for lunch...but we didn't mind because it was so lovely!

From the service to the location to the atmosphere and last but not least (actually primordial), the magnificent dishes and presentation. Everything lives up to what is expected and more. A must must for a romantic evening overlooking the Arno RIver in Firenze.

We ate there twice during a week in Florence. The first time actually in the restaurant on their small, (seats four couples) terrace. The second time on the Hotel Lungarno lobby bar terrace which is slightly larger, but serves the same menu. We ate from the A La Carte menu both times and we both thought the food was excellant, but not Tuscan. The wine list is extensive and the Sommelier was very helpfull in choosing Italian wines we were not familiar with.
If you want to eat on either terrace booking is essential.

On our last night in Florence we ate at BSJ. It was exceptional. We made a reservation for a table on the small terrace overlooking the Arno. We had the tasting menu with wine pairing. Absolutely delicious. I have eaten at many 5 star restaurants around the world and this one ranks as one of my best culinary experiences. If in Florence it's a must. Buono Apetito.
