Worst 30 euros I have spent. Ordered the ribollita and pollo diavola. The ribollita really does taste like a pile of ____, maybe I'm not used to traditional Tuscan food, but they must have been taste-blind back then or lacking spices. The chicken was tough and dry. I guess a key criteria to picking an honest restaurant is whether they have a prix-fixe menu. Place was totally packed, perhaps that contributed to the bad quality dishes. The good thing was the friendly and quick service.

Popped in for dinner on the recommendation of our hotel manager at Hotel Hermes, who has been a resident for 40 years. She told us the Florentine steaks are from Italian wild reared cows so had high expectations and was not disappointed in the slightest.

Easily the best steak I've had in my whole life. Cooked perfectly, and the quality of the produce was simply amazing without any need for sauce or condiments. Amazing.

My wife had fresh pasta (obviously handmade) with porcini mushrooms which was also delightful. We were surprised by a complimentary lemon sorbet gelato and our waitress Donatella was efficient and friendly. The atmosphere was lovely with plenty of Italians and Florentines filling neighboring tables with lively gesticulations.

Very reasonable price for the quality of food, we left very satisfied and would recommend and return again and again.

200 m from Piazza Santa Maria Novella. Genuine Italian cuisine. Lunch menu with two dishes (five alternatives each) at € 10.

At the recommendation of our hotel we tried this restaurant. Set in an old building the ambiance is very atmospheric. We were tired after a day of travel, so we just ordered pizza. Had we known how large they were we could have split one. Huge selection of pizza and other Italian favorite dishes. Delicious! Off the beaten path, near the train station. Patronized by the locals.

Ordered the Pizza di mare. I don't think there was any shellfish left in the ocean after this and only 9 Euro. The crust and tomato sauce equaled the fruit of the sea...yummmm.
