Found this trattoria by chance and tried one mushroom soup and the chicken meatballs as well as the scaloppine. The food was delicious but poor in quantity. The room was typical small trattoria and the service was nice.

Excellent food, the waiter detailed us the menu, answering our questions, he gave us good advice for the wine too. Very nice culinary experience, the food was very good and arrived at the table piping hot. Portions afe sufficient for a good apetite, they are far from being skimpy. Our only complaint is about a group of 11 speaking persons on sept/25th talking loud, doing cheap jokes and acting like they owned the place, the ruined the whole atmosphere...

We went to the Caffe' Cibreo....price wise it was in between the main restaurant and the trattoria...Can't say enough good things. The food was excellent...dishes we likely wouldn't have chosen off a menu. The owner/chef is a character and is constantly buzzing around the tables and will likely choose things for you...let him. You can go to any of the 3 eateries and get the same food (or nearly the same...) but this was a great experience and a wonderful foodie experience. We had the fixed menu so that we could get various tastes of dishes and for our main dished I had the sausage stuffed rabbit with pork/leeks/rosemary and my husband had ox tail stew. Everything from the various appetizers to the desserts was amazing. Don't miss this restaurant if you are in Florence! We'll be going back!

We were in Firenze (Florence) during our month long holiday in Tuscany. We always try get to Florence as Cibreo is one of our favourites, last year we missed out as we were there in August when they are closed. We wished we had longer as there were a few interesting things to try but needed much more time. The polenta with parmesan & olive oil is a must, it was deliciously creamy. I also had chicken meat balls which were served with a tomato sauce - a small portion but a very tasty one. I didn't really have room for anything else but their Panna Cotta is to die for, I look forward to 2013 when I can have it again! My partner chose the beef cheeks which were heavenly but considering the temperature outside was about 30 degrees, they are possibly something that should be consumed in winter - even so, they were quite delicious. After we had finished our meal we were each given complimentary slice of a wickedly rich Chocolate Cake, the last thing we needed but we managed!! The restaurant is popular so you need to be there early. There are about three tables for two and the rest are for four or more so you may end up sharing a table with other diners. It gets extremely busy so it is understandable that the staff appear rushed or flustered, they have a lot of foreign visitors who need to have the menu explained in english and this is time consuming when they have so many things to attend to, so if you are of an impatient nature perhaps you should avoid it (I read some other reviews!) But for those of you who want to enjoy some inspired italian cuisine this place is a must - but don't go looking here for pasta or pizza as they don't have it!! Very reasonably priced for something a bit different. We shall be back.

Same wonderful kitchen as Cibreo and worth a stop for lunch. Arrive at 1pm to get a table, although they have outside seating now, it can be hot during lunch there. Cash only - on the top of the lunch list for Firenze!
