There are many places to get a vegetarian meal, but this one specializes in hearty, healthy, delicious food in a beautiful rustic setting. The prices are very reasonable and the portions are good sized. A bowl of soup, a basket of bread (whole wheat) and a glass of wine makes for a filling lunch. The owners and staff are welcoming, friendly and helpful if you aren't fluent in Italian. The menu changes from day to day. Enjoy!

good place to go if you like informal places. You can choose between vegetarian and vegan dishes. In case you will be still hungry after having your meal, I recommend you the wide choice of cakes. It can be crowdy so plan to go early if you don't want to make a long queue at the desk..

The Ristorante Vegetariano is always packed with locals and tourists alike. No wonder, given the good quality of food and the cosy atmosphere, not to mention the moderate prices. I strongly suggest that you show up well before 8 pm, otherwise be prepared for a lengthy, squeezing queue.

The ordering system is clever, but to function properly it would need an roomier venue: you order at the counter and receive a leaflet with your order scribbled upon. Turn backward and you will be facing the food counter where you hand in your leaflet and receive the food, which you put on a tray and wander around to find a table. The snag is that the two queues (for ordering and for getting the food) mingle together almost inextricably. If you can emerge from the melee safely, with your food tray intact, then you can sit at a table and enjoy your meal.

The menu has a great variety of very tasty vegetarian food (beans, carrots, fennels, leeks, onions, etc.) very well prepared and with a typical Tuscan flavour, as you would have in any local homestead or at countryside little trattorias.

You will discover that Tuscan food is not only made of Florentine Steak, but there is much more to it. I do recommend it both to locals and tourists, who have a chance of trying the real Tuscan cuisine at a moderate price.

Can get busy and so very stressful trying to get your food initially due to the strange set-up of the cashier and food line, but once you are seated, great experience. Food is hearty and good. Lots of variety, vegan options too. Biodynamic wine good, as are desserts. Nice outdoor seating in covered garden. Friendly and efficient staff. No table service.

After a few good days of ongoing (delicious) pasta meals, we felt the urge for some vegetables... Found a very nice local restaurant, off the beaten track and out of the main tourist scene. Food is good and staff is very helpful (hardly know English but are very willing and nice).

Definitely worth a visit.
