It is hard to be original when commenting on the wonderful cuisine and great service at this modest restaurant a couple of blocks from the Excelsior and Arno. My wife and I only had one day in Florence on this trip as were on a cruise that docked in Livorno. With time for only a few things one of them had to be a visit to di Giovanni, our fourth in the last few years. I emailed Caterina in advance to verify they were open on Monday for lunch just to be sure. My ossobucco was perfect, matching my wife's veal chop, as was everything else. After coffee and the complimentary after dinner drink we enjoyed a walk along the river before heading to the train station for the return to Livorno.
