I cant praise Plus Florence enough. Best hostel, great staff. The location was very central to all the main attractions. We had a private double room with ensuite and found it was very clean, spacious and quiet. I will definitely stay again.

This hostel was in a great location and an easy stroll to all the main attractions in Florence. It was clean, tidy and also quite spacious for a hostel. Even though we had a private room we shared a balcony which could be a problem depending on who is in the room next door. The upstairs terrace looked quite nice although we didn’t get the chance to use it. We were also in a room near the stairs heading up to the terrace which could be a bit noisy at times, but otherwise a great place to stay!

Every member of staff was friendly and helpful. Room
was completely adequate. Roof terrace bar offers stunning views of the city, and downstairs bar offers a relaxing drink to kick start the evening. Didn't eat here but food looked good and was priced reasonably.

Swimming pool is quite cold but the decor is good and it is pretty refreshing after the excellent steam room and sauna. There were also fitness machines available for those feeling more energetic than myself.

Thr Plus Port was extremely useful and the free wifi throughout the building was the icing on the cake. Breakfast wasn't great, all food cold and juice was awful.

All in all though it was an excellent stay. I have paid three times the price in the past for hotels with nowhere near the same levels of facilities or service. Definitely recommend it.

As new to hostels we did not know what to expect but this hostel good although we did not realise that towels were not supplied, be warned. The room was clean and the building well kept. Breakfast was good value and the terrace bar lovely although beware to keep your room card topped up with money, it is a long walk to reception! A shame the pool and gym did not open until 6pm. A good location and not too far to the station although seemed quite a walk with luggage! Would use hostel again.

We spent three nights at the Plus Florence Hostel in the middle of the August heat. It is the affordable option for staying in Florence. Slightly off the main drag, but only 10-15 minutes (depending on your amount of luggage!) from the station, which is the main arrival spot for into Florence by train or bus from the airport at Pisa. We travelled by bus from Siena and found the hostel directions very clear to find the place.

Linen is provided, but bring your own towels, the room was spotlessly clean with lots of storage space and a nice new shower room ensuite. The hostel has a lovely pool and sauna/steam area in the basement, which is welcoming after a long day seeing all the sights. It is only open in the evenings. The rooftop also has a bar with enviable views across to the duomo. The only negative would be that our room was quite near the stairwell so it was noisy at nightime with all the bar emptying late.

This was the affordable option for florence and I would recommend it by booking on advance on hostelbookers, it is a huge hostel and it is run very efficiently, the pool was a big bonus after the baking sun during the day!

p.s. you also get a free 10 mins internet use which is useful and your room key can be charged to pay for all the amenities on offer, there is breakfast, dinners, drinks - you name it - even hair straightener hire! They have thought of most things!

This hostel blew the other hostels away I stayed at in pretty much every way. Let's start with the room. It was HUGE by hostels standards. My 4 Bed dorm was twice as big as the other 4-6 Bed hostels I stayed at in Italy, France, and Spain. There was a very clean private bathroom and the roommates were very considerate. The lockers in the room were nice and big for my backpack and daypack, and easy to lock with a luggage lock.

Next, let's talk about the amenities-- much more than even some of the hotels I stayed at. Turkish spa, sauna, indoor pool, rooftop terrace w/ a view, disco, bar... Yes, some of them have awkward opening times, but it ended up working out for me. Go out and explore the city during the day, come back to a nice soak in the evening. Perfect!

The location of the hostel wasn't brilliant, but it was quite good. Florence has a very small town feel and is very walkable, and I had no trouble walking everywhere I needed to go from the hostel. The neighborhood feels very safe and the imposing size of the place makes it easy to find.

Finally, the staff. They were all very very nice and had no qualms about providing us with excellent service. They organized a pub crawl for us and it was a LOT of fun. Really knowledgeable and really nice. Can't ask for much more!

FP hostel helped make Florence te best city of my trip, so thanks guys!

We stayed here for two nights in July 2010. We had a room with a private ensuite for 4 people. Check-in and check-out was smooth. The room we stayed in was on the main floor so it can sometimes get loud with the street right outside or with people in the lobby area coming in late at night. They also play music in the lobby which can be heard from the room until they turn it off at about 11pm.

There is an All-you-can-eat breakfast each morning for 5 euros. The food is OK. The quality is so-so but it will fill you up so you can get a good start to the day. Bread, soggy bacon, ham, cheese, yogurt, juice, etc.

The room we had was actually quite spacious and clean enough that I was satisfied. However, when taking showers, the floor to the washroom somehow got wet even though the shower door was tightly closed. It left standing water on the floor which was kind of gross. We had to make sure we absolutely had footwear on before entering.

The hostel has a ton of amenities. I wish we had time to take a dip in the pool or spend time in the sauna. We did check it out and they looked great. The downstairs bar is a nice idea but didn't get much traffic. The bartender looked bored and lonely. There are more people on the rooftop terrace which has a nice view of the city. The hostel also has washers and dryers for use. The bad thing about them is that they aren't the industrial machines like at a dedicated laundromat. Not a big deal for the washer, but the dryer didn't dry all our clothes after the time was up. Since we were leaving the next day and it was getting late, we just hung the clothes to dry in the room until morning. One more thing, there is only on elevator in the building. As we were on the first floor it wasn't a big deal, but be prepared to wait if you need to take it.

As a hostel, this place is decent. It didn't blow me way, but if I was looking for a hostel in Florence I'd consider Plus Florence Hostel again.
