When we arrived on our bus tour they seemed so organized with their wee colored packets and room keys. When we got to our room out key wouldn't work, 5 flights of stairs up because the elevators were out of action and 20 minutes later waiting at reception we got into our 4 bedroom dorm. We booked a private double. Rage. Up and down 5 flights again and another 20+ mins at reception (they are so slow and only 2 are on with bus loads lining up) we finally go to our room. Then room was nice. Could have been a great stay if they would just sort the admin and elevators out.

This place was great. We stayed in the new building, so was very quite. Very clean, good price, good location, and good amenities. Pool, bar, and cafeteria on location. I am sure we would have enjoyed it even more if we were in our young 20s. I would definitely look into staying at other plus locations as well. Seems like they offer way more amenities than most hostels.

Traveling with 4 people, we were placed in the new building with our own room. We stayed for 2 nights while the world cup was playing.

Location: The location of this hostel was ideal- close to the train station and walkable to the action.

Accommodations: The room was clean. The shower/bathroom had nice hardware and good water pressure. We had plenty of room to lay out our things and the beds were comfortable. Although, the pillows were extremely flat.

Bar/Restaurant: The food was not the best, breakfast was straight forward. But the atmosphere of the bar at night was really nice. People pregaming before heading out and some congregating to watch the soccer games.

Customer Service: They were great at providing the "everyday" tourist spots, but they did not really offer any advice for fun local spots. The lines were often very long to check in/check out.

I would definitely recommend this hostel/hotel to anyone, the staff are great and the customer service!!! There was a mix up with the bookings and Michele (manager) was extremely friendly and helpful and even offered an upgrade! In peak season - that's anything to keep customers happy!! Definetly check it out :)

Our booking was booked as a tour and something went wrong on our end and the booking was never confirmed, so our group of 18 rock up in peak season when everything is booked out. Short story is that Michele the manager sorted everything out for us and he managed to find us rooms and able to give them at the rate we had been originally told (which was a discount on the available rooms). All in all a great ending! Thanks Plus Florence!

We had a triple ensuite for 4 nights, on the third floor of the building a few hundred meters away from the reception building. Getting there from the train station wasn't the easiest- the streets were crowded, narrow and uneven. When we arrived, it wasn't busy at reception and check in was quick.

Our room was impressive- modern, clean, spacious- the best we've had in Italy. Wifi was fast with good reception, although we did experience a slow down one time, which coincided with the arrival of 2 busloads of Topdeck tourists. Towels, soap and gel were provided and the daily housekeeping was excellent. The beds were comfortable, but the ottoman that served as a bedside table wasn't practical due to its soft surface- a bottle of water would tip over on it. Bathroom was great. Air-conditioner did not work, but we didn't need it that much. The window has no flyscreen, so would let in bugs as well as noise if opened. Our room faced a main road and traffic noise (even with the window closed and curtains drawn) did disturb our sleep here and there. The TV was great- had CNN and MTV music channels. There was a lift to conveniently get up and down from the rooms.

The most disappointing aspect is Plus Florence's restaurant downstairs. The Euro$6 cost for breakfast was reasonable, but didn't include the croissants they had on display, so it's a little misleading. The cereal and cakes were not great, but the beans, eggs and bacon were good and you can eat as much as you want. Dinner was also ordinary. Despite the wait to be served, my lasagne definitely came out of a frozen box- the bottom layer was so hard, it was inedible. My friends ordered pasta and they tasted OK at least. The cost of dinner was comparable to outside, so we can't recommend eating here except for the convenience.

Check out was not the best experience- the small lobby area was crowded and only 2 girls were working. There's no sign to indicate it, but the girls would only serve the line directly behind their computers (only 1 side of the counter), even though the counter is L-shaped and they were moving freely behind them (hence one would assume they would serve at a first-come basis). After being ignored at the front of the counter long enough for a queue to develop behind me, the receptionist lady finally acknowledged us after the guy behind me asked to be served as he was in a hurry. Our queue were told to join behind the other 2 queues that had gotten even longer during our wait. All in all, it took 30 min to check out (the actual process takes less than a minute).
