When strolling through Florence with my daughter, we came upon an incredible aroma and decided to follow our noses. Osteria delle Brache was the source. We ordered what our server recommended - the seafood linguine. It came in a huge stainless vessel and we didn't think we could ever finish it. But it was so delicious we couldn't stop eating it! Then the server mentioned that the chef is from Sicily and he makes the best cannolli in the country (his nona's recipe). Full as we were, we couldn't resist, and we were not dissappointed!

Located near Santa Croce, you have to walk along Via De' Benci until you find Volta de' Peruzzi (an arch) taking you in the quiet Piazza de' Peruzzi, far from the crowded places. Just in the little square (so small you'd never say that is a square...), you can see the outside tables of this fabulous restaurant. Right behind the corner, there is the entrance: a small door and few steps take you down into the main room. The outdoor is very good for lunch, while you are having a nice walk through the historical centre of the city and you want to have a good relaxing break.
The indoor is amazing romantic, all the walls are "decorated" with hundreds of bottles of wine and other characteristic stuff. Candles light, scents and sweet details surround you in a so warm hug: the atmosphere is just perfect. I highly recomend this place to the people who loves to discover and to taste italian flavours, slowly, bite after bite.
Here you can eat great pasta with delicious sauces, meat (real Fiorentina steak! not the fake one that many other "restaurants" sell you for few euros...), but the best is surely fish, fresh tasty fish. They also have an almost neverending italian wine list. Desserts are... you'd really wish they never end.
Andrea, the owner, is a nice guy and also a very good cook. The girls at the tables are very kind and they are always ready to suggest you the best of the day or which wine is better with what you are going to eat.
Prices are aligned with the other good restaurants in the city, but compared to the overall quality, the price is just a very good deal, especially for greedy people.
