We arrived at 8.30 and found the restaurant very busy - locals and tourists, the atmosphere was bustling but pleasant. We decided right away that we would stay and wait for a table, even though the head server told us it would be about a 30-minute wait - it was pouring outside and we felt that we couldn't possibly eat anywhere else. It was worth it - ribolitta as a first dish warmed us right up, for drinks we ordered the house wine - not extraordinary, but a nice red, not too heavy and it complimented the dishes very nicely. The star of the evening was the humongous Florentine Steak, with a side of artichokes and potatoes. Delicious. We split everything with my boyfriend and we had more than enough to eat. I wouldn't say that it was too expensive - most other restaurants seemed to be in the same price range, but the food really was great. Overall - the cuisine was simple and honest, prepared well and true to what local italians eat. This was one of our most enjoyable evenings in Florence. I would highly recommend going here and do try to book a table in advance, or at least arrive as early as possible to get a table.
