“Good family restaurant”
Reviewed October 11, 2013

You want pasta but the children prefer pizza. It is not always easy to find a restaurant serving both in Italy. Dante does it well with lots of family favourites but enough sophistication to keep more demanding palates satisfied too. The spaghetti carbonara and tagliatelle with wild boar sauce are recommended.

“Great pizza, service, and reasonably priced”
Reviewed October 11, 2013

We went at the suggestion of our concierge. The food was excellent, especially the bread and pizza. This seems to be a favorite of local families, as well as visiting students. The service was great. There are only three wait staff, but they worked so well together that they always seemed ready to accommodate. Great Tuscan food plus pizza: I would return!

“Good pizza, but not cheap”
Reviewed October 6, 2013

Our first night in Florence and it was getting late, so we tried this place as it seemed to be popular. Had to wait a couple of minutes for a table, but service was polite and reasonably quick. Just went for Pizza Napoli, which was very tasty. Topping not overwhelmingly thick, but personally, I prefer that - thin crispy base with just the right amount of topping.

House Rosso quite good, and available in a smaller carafe if you don't want to splash on a full bottle. Like many places of this type, the wine is not cheap.

An ok dining experience. Not the best but certainly good enough.

“Lovely atmosphere”
Reviewed August 28, 2013

The restaurant is dimly lit which we loved. The decor is great and the food was up to the good Italian standard. We had asparagus soup to start which was amazing and pizza and ravioli for main which were very good. Worth going to for a nice quiet dinner.

“Pizza is nice...but measly toppings.”
Reviewed August 27, 2013

At €8+ for a pizza, they aren't super cheap, especially considering that Dante's Pizzeria is about a ten/fifteen minute walk from the Ponte Vecchio and not in a central location.

As you'll see from my photos, the pizzas had a nice thin dough, but were really lacking in toppings.

The supposed meat pizza was covered in rocket to hide the lack of toppings.

I ordered the olives, artichoke, mushroom & mozzarella pizza, and there was one piece of mozzarella on the whole thing- it was essentially a cheeseless pizza, with just the tomato base to combat the dryness.

When you take in the coperto charge, and water, it means you're paying a good €15 euros to sit, drink water and eat a dry pizza with scarce toppings.

My advice would be to go elsewhere.
