“Really, this small place is great of its kind”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 22, 2013

We went to Le Volpi e l'Uva—barely a stone's throw from Ponte Vecchio, but an oasis from the tourist madness—because an Italian colleague recommended it as a nice place to get a crisp glass of Italian wine, along with some expert advice, before dinner. We got the glass of wine—a Verdicchio for us both—and the advice, and a plate of Tuscan charcuterie to go with. And then we decided that we were so happy with the wine and the advice and the food that we'd make our dinner there, as we did with another lovely glass of wine—Colli Orientali Friulano—and a plate of smoked trout. The discovery and the oasis and the wine and the food all made for a perfect evening.

“High quality selection of by the glass wines”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 15, 2013

I really enjoy this place to try what are always good quality wines. The staff are really knowledgeable about the wines they serve. They typically have about 20 red and 20 whites to select from. You can also buy a bottle of anything you like to have later. A really nice place to stop for a pre dinner drink.

“The best of the best in Florence”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 23, 2013

A trip to Florence should never be without a visit here. Spend the afternoon sampling delicious wines, excellent snacks (The truffle salami and cheese toasts are outstanding)
Hard to find, thank goodness but if you want to be Italian for an afternoon skip the Pitti Palace and sit and watch the world go by. Don't miss this experience, sample and enjoy

“The Ideal Place for a Glass of Wine”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 22, 2013

Le Volpi e l'Uva is a little wine bar in the Oltrarno section of Florence between the Ponte Vecchio and the Pitti Palace. Its outdoor seating is on a small piazza beside the Church of Santa Felicita. This is an ideal spot to take a break and relax with a glass of fine wine and a plate of assorted cheeses and/or cured meats. Even a glass of Brunello di Montalcino, considered by many experts to be the world's finest red wine, is surprisingly inexpensive here, and it pairs beautifully with a plate of varied Italian cheeses. There are also other foods such as hot or cold sandwiches and a few sweets, the the wine are what it is really all about. There is nothing fancy or pretentious about this place, but it is comfortable as well as convenient. The proprietor will happily try to please any taste or will provide guidance for those less certain about which wine to order. Do try to stop here at least once while you are in Florence.

“Perfetto spot to get your Ciao on...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 16, 2013

We spotted this place on a local food bloggers site and came here for dinner after a rousing visit to the Tuscan Wine School a few blocks away.

Great representation of Italian wines by the glass and killer small plates that will knock your socks off. Our waitress was super friendly and quite a character.

Start off with some Prosecco to cleanse your palate, then attack the Crostone menu. Try the Crostone con Lardo. Amazing.

Sit on the patio and enjoy some silky Italian red wine and enjoy the lifestyle. This is La Dolce Vita.
