The first time we came to Florence, many years ago, we dined at Le Fonticine, and I still remembered how good the food was, but my husband said he felt too crowded, wedged in between two other small tables. Our waiter seemed harried and rushed. We finally returned in October, and the atmosphere was quite different...no crowding, room to breathe. The service was very solicitous, the atmosphere cozy.
My husband ordered a veal chop that was big and tender, and everything was good, including the price. It may have been the lowest priced of our dinners in Italian restaurants, and the quality was one of the highest. We plan to return on our next trip in October.
