Beautiful small(20 seats),elegant setting. Excellent food with innovative menu options. Best of all was the welcoming service from Joanna the Chefs sister and part of the ownership family. Allow for a wonderful relaxing evening.

Bad news first of all; it's not the easiest place to find but it is worth making the effort. Take a look at google earth before you go and you SHOULD be OK. Situated in what looks like a converted villa, the restaurant exudes elegance with top quality furnishings and decor to match. With about 20 covers total indoors the comfortable seating arrangement is such a pleasure as so many restaurants offer very limited seating and table space in order to pack more people in. There is also table space in the garden area which is well appointed. An interesting menu, an ample wine list plus very good service in a very comfortable atmosphere made for a most enjoyable evening. The Pâté was the best I have tasted in Italy and the rest of our meal was of a very high quality. Be warned that the cheese cake, tho' very tasty, was very filling so do leave ample room if you are a cheese cake fan. Our meal, though quite expensive, represented good value for money and was as close to a dinner party environment as one is likely to find in this area. A wonderful experience and one that we look forward to repeating.

Can't say enough about this beautiful restaurant above Cortona. They go over and above to be sure you enjoy your experience. Everything from the service to the food is incredible. It can be a little difficult to find but worth it, so be sure to call and get exact directions.

We were taken to dinner at this intimate and beautiful restaurant high above the Tuscan hill town of Cortona by our host at the magnificent B and B Casa Portagioa. The restaurant was designed by a professional interior designer to mainly show off the cooking of her son Benardo . He had trained with the best and cooked in Sicily before retuning to Tuscany thus the menu. I had one of the most amazing pastas, a large penne like tube filled with a duck ragu served in a thick Parmesan sauce with balsamic vinegar on the plate. My wife had a pasta Norma from Sicilan roots. Secondi included perfectly cooked orata and a delicious Italian veal braise with potatoes. The wine list was great and our hostess most gracious. In time with signage, GPS corordinates ,, and word of mouth this place which treats cooking with care in an elegant setting will become a favorite of all who visit this part of Tuscany.

Set in a stylish living room, this six table restaurant has a special, cozy feel, only surpassed by its amazing food. Free apetizer, amuses and then the ordered dishes were yet to come. Every dish was a treat for both the eye and the mouth, beautifully plated and deliciously prepared. Soothing music in the background, good selection of wine and the chef is very helpful in desribing the dishes for you. A quality unlike what we've experienced in Cortona before and this young, talented chef is surely going places. And the price is amazingly good value, starters €8-12, primi €9-14 and secondi € 10-17. Desserts: to die for! And as everywhere in Italy, feel free to ask to share a dish among yourselves, they're happy to oblige. Note: by car it's VERY difficult to find! Set your navigation to Torreone. As you arrive there, there is a bar/cafe (called Torreone) at the town's entrance, go left from the cafe and follow the road upwards (you'll pass the park, a small football court on your left and La Piscina on your right. Soon after, the restaurant is on your right. Park alongside the road and walk the last few steps to the restaurant. Follow these directions, and you should be fine. Need help? Call the restauroant and the chef is happy to direct you. Make the effort and you'll not be disappointed!!!
