“Wonderful experience!!”

My first visit to this amazing country was wonderful and one of the highlights was definitely the Mad About Tuscany experience with Sioban and Carlo. We were taken to the most amazing places and looked after incredibly well for the week. The villa is lovely with an amazing view and swimming pool and just a short walk to Cortona which is a truly gorgeous town. Carlo's passion for his home is evident in his enthusiasm and he and Sioban make you feel that you are away with old friends. I couldn't recommend this tour more it was perfect in every detail.

“A Tuscan Adventrue”

For those considering a trip to Italy- we recently had the best week imaginable in Tuscany thanks to Sioban and Carlo of ‘Mad about Tuscany Tours’. Having met this welcoming couple in Yallingup (Western Australia) previously, we eagerly anticipated an interesting time. In fact we had more than expected – six happy , friendly people (now called friends) to enjoy a week with in a great villa with a view of Cortona on the nearby hill for accommodation, spacious rooms with ensuite and well equipped with pool and all the extras needed. As for the places we visited - all very personal and the scenery / locations / history just fantastic. Carlo has gone out of his way to research and select the absolute best places you must see – the villages were so pretty and restaurants we visited all provided great family / personal service without skimping on professionalism and the food was fantastic / authentic and five star in many cases (pasta and tomatoes will never be the same!). The cooking school organised by Sioban was a delight. The food /wine all local and hand grown and prepared - great venue and such a personal experience meeting their friends, neighbours and family. Luckily the weather was perfect for us and we even saw the fields of sunflowers starting to bloom as we left. Shopping was great too– we can highly recommend this trip for travellers wanting a true experience of what Italian history and hospitality is all about – or as they say in Italy – Ottimo lavoro ragazzi molte grazie (great job guys many thanks) – Ciao , John and Ann, Bedfordale, WA

“A Taste of Tuscan Heaven”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 14, 2013

My sister and I had a 4 week leave pass. Our Mad About Tuscany tour was the beginning of our holiday and it certainly set the benchmark for extraordinary experiences in taste, smell and sight. Everyday was a treat to the senses, our taste buds enjoying deep intense flavours of local cheeses, wine, meat, pasta and of course the gelato. Our noses soaking up the perfume of jasmine in the hot Italian sun, the aromas of culinary delights emerging from Tuscan kitchens, the rich aroma of espresso coffees and the fresh country air on our early morning walks through the outskirts of Cortona. Everyday with Carlo was an adventure as we travelled off the beaten tourist tracks to small medieval towns and villages throughout Tuscany that gave us insight into this wonderful region and the beautiful people who live there. Carlo was great fun, enduring lots of questions and providing humorous and educational commentary throughout the trip. We had lots of spare time to roam the cobbled streets and soak up the atmosphere and engage in some fantastic retail therapy - the shoes and handbags are heavenly. Our fabulous hosts, Carlo and Sioban took care of everything - it was wonderful, simply arriving at a destination where the food and wine was organised even the morning coffee was a special treat. Our cooking class with Sioban was a highlight and the gastronomique delights we produced were sublime. Sitting outside under the pergola savouring the fruits of our labour in the kitchen and drinking magical wine was a memory maker. We were truly blessed with the other folk on the tour who all had a great sense of humour and soaked up Tuscany with the same relish as we did. The passion Sioban and Carlo have for Tuscany is evident and we cannot thank them enough for their gracious and warm hospitality. This was a holiday of a lifetime - thank you from the bottom of hearts. We will be back!!! Big Hugs Deb & Kim

“Best Tour Ever!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 5, 2013

We would definitely recommend the Mad About Tuscany culinary experience. We loved every minute of our time with Carlo and Sioban and we particularly enjoyed visiting many cafes, restaurants and other places that a tourist wouldn't normally see. Carlo is a very entertaining and informative tour guide and Sioban's cooking expertise is second to none. Our villa was within walking distance to the walled city of Cortona which was an enjoyable and fascinating place to visit. The small size of the tour group (8 people on our tour) was a bonus - much better than the hassle of the big coach tours. We are intending to return to Cortona, and booking on another tour, with our sons and their partners in 2015
