No wonder others have waxed lyrical about this place. To get to the enchanting hill town of Cortona, you will probably have hired a car. Drive it into their courtyard and they will park it nearby for you. Great start. Then you'll be met by one of the super friendly receptionists, Julia, Johanna or Louana who will tell you how it all works. Prosecca at seven with nibbles. Then off to your preferred restaurant in Cortona - within walking distance so forget the car till the next morning. We recommend upgrading to a room with a view, if budget allows. The view is breathtaking. Something different to do each night in the square - brass band with rock drummer! Puccini opera in the Teatro (get a box!), Mozart's Requiem in one of the Churches and Lynyrd Skinyrd tribute band while we were there. All free after you've feasted on your caprese and pasta. Then wander home to that enormous bed with the crisp clean sheets and dream undisturbed. And did I mention those sumptuous breakfasts? Wow. We stayed a week and it just wasn't long enough....
