This restaurant was not what we expected, even though we had read great reviews, since the restaurant is literally in the middle of nowhere (farmhouse). The food was absolutely to die for. Tuscan dishes with a twist are hard to find. We had a sampler of Tuscan appetizers that were original and delicious. The caramelized eggplant on puff pastry with a red pepper sauce was incredible. The homemade pasta (tagliatelle and pici) were cooked to perfection. The tagliata was tender, and although I'd have wanted it cooked beyond rare, it was incredibly tasty with green pepper and fresh rosemary.
The desserts didn't disappoint. Whoever stayed in Italy for a few weeks (I actually live here) appreciates a dessert with chocolate that actually has chocolate and not Nutella.
They produce their own wine and olive oil and raise their own cows, at it shows. Everything is fresh and top quality. The service is outstanding, out of this world!
