Our mother invited us for a holiday in Tuscane. We were with 5 adults and a 12yo.
We went by plane and rented two cars. Be advised at Pisa Airport getting a car can take a while. For us 1,5 hours.

After two hours drive we entered a fairytale surrounding. Casa Capanni is located in a small municipality of Monsigliolo. Using GPS-system, look it up first and pin it in the map because the adress didn't pop up on my Garmin. On a 2D map it's in the middle of a bump/zit or boil on top of the road to Camucia/Cortona. Don't always trust the given country and town roads, you might climb or decent on a 20% steep street. :-). Getting petrol is also different. Unmanned pumps, pay first with paper and then fill up to the amount.

The reception of the team was very pleasant. You feel at home immediately. The people in the small town are also very friendly and try to help you, but know some Italian to really communicate. The breakfasts are very good and all in all the team does an excellent job. You are really treated as a welcome guest by the team. They really want to share the wonderfully decorated house, big garden with swimmingpool and surroundings. Like stepping into paradise

The rooms and bathrooms are wonderfull. The room my partner and I had, Signorelli, looks over the garden and to the right you see glimps of the swimming pool. From the other window you can see Cortona, located on a hill. At night the little town lights up and you feel like you're in paradise. You really wake up with birds twittering. Loved it.
They have a guest sitting room with satellite TV. Dutch channel system, with a lot of english programs and some English channels (no BBC, different satellite). The website of Casa Capanni tells the rest. They have internet in the house. 3G network in Italy is not so great iPhone 4 Vodafone.

There are nice restaurants in Camucia and Cortona. One we went to was in the hills, very good and a wonderfull view outside. Nearby can be a 20 minute drive. Dinner starts around 8 pm.

Camucia / Cortona has a train station where you can go anywhere. We went to Firenze (Florence) by train. For apps use trenitalia. Like aprox. €20 roundtrip per person. By car Pienza, Montepulciano and Castiglione del Lago are nice places to visit.

Experience Tuscane? Go to Casa Capanni! You fall in love with it.

Valjon and Undree.

Room Tip: It's not a hotel. Bathrooms are generally not in the room itself but on the hallway. Bathrobes are in the room. All rooms are in excellent condition.

Stayed here for a family vacation/celebration. We virtually took over the Inn with our numbers and Wim and the hosts could not have been more accommodating. Despite the heat of the summer Casa Capanni's thick stone walls always kept us cool; make sure to shut the shutters before the heat of the day. Whether attending to our needs at the B&B or making recommendations for many off-the-beaten path sites, Casa Capanni truly delivered. We picked fresh plums from the trees every morning. We visited small markets in Camucia.

The location is grand for visiting. The Eastern side of Tuscany is much less developed and crowded than the Chianti-Sienna-Florence region. Make sure you visit the Umbrian towns of Spello, Orvieto, Civita di Bagnoregio, and Montefalco, among others . In Umbria, overlooking Lago di Trasimeno, we visited a small winery where the vintner stores the wine in a small chapel on the grounds. Just beautiful!

One thing to be aware, there is a small number of wildcats that the groundskeeper feeds. Remember, the cats are wild and will strike out if you try to pet them. But just ignore/"shoo" (or in a pinch squirt with a bit of water) and they'll stay away.

Room Tip: It's tucked off the main road with no road signs (only land marks) so make sure you pay close attention to the proprietor's detailed directions.

We've stayed 10 days in the beautiful Casa Capanni and we've loved it ! The people are very friendly, the bedrooms are spacious, the breakfast is super, our kids (8 and 10) loved the swimming pool. We've also enjoyed the dinners, offered several times per week in the B&B.
Ideal to discover Toscany and Umbria !

We stayed at B&B Casa Capanni in July of 2012. The home is beautifully updated, stylish and comfortable. Casa Capanni is in an ideal location for touring Tuscany and all of Italy. it is within an hour of Florence, two hours of Rome, and just minutes from beautiful mountain towns including Cortona, Montepulciano, Siena and Pienza. The caretakers of the B&B are kind and attentive. All in all, it would be hard to find a better location for those who want to tour Tuscany and hit the major cities in Italy.
