We got married in Cortona on 19th May and could not have dreamt of a better wedding day. Donato the owner was so welcoming and helpful, he arranged all the food and drink and made our day amazing. We can highly recommend this as a holiday or wedding venue. We rented the entire villa and everyone that came with us had a fantastic time. The accommodation is beautiful and incredibly clean. The grounds are picture book perfect and everyone enjoyed the pool. Such a wonderful week away, we loved every minute of it.

We are a French family with 4 kids (aged 13 to 18), we spent 10 lovely days at Monastero San Silvestro.
The place is simply beautiful. There are 7 or 8 apartments, so it's very quiet. The garden is beautiful, with a great view on Cortona. The owner Donato is on site everyday, taking care of his guests.
Apart from visiting Toscana (2 hours for Pisa, 1 hour and a half for Firenze, 1 hour for Siena, 30 mn for Assisi and Arezzo) the kids and us spent some good time at the pool.
Our apartment was large, clean and nice. Everything is included, even the cleansing. Beds were particularly good (worth mentioning, since it's clearly not the case in every place we rented in the past!).

I could not recommend the Monastero and the host enough. A beautiful and peaceful spot 5 minutes drive from Cortona town and 4 minutes drive from the train station in Camucia. I've stayed here twice in the last twelve months and will be back, once as a couple and once with family. Donato the host and his wife Daniela know all the best places and people around for car hire, restaurants and trips and cannot do enough for you. The apartments are large, clean and very cool. The views from some of the rooms upstairs are amazing while others are like something from Game of Thrones. A lovely salt pool and very strong wifi which is great for skyping all around the grounds. This is a great spot for seeing the rest of Tuscany as the train and motorway are within a couple of minutes drive.

Stayed here as part of a wedding party in late July 2016. We were a large party, and took over the whole residence. The beauty of the location is spectacular and the salt water pool was refreshing in the heat.

Each of the apartments has their charms, but not all are particularly suitable for young children (but it is a converted monastery, so as long as due care is followed, it's fine)

Also- having a car is preferable due to the distance to amenities.

The staff will go above and beyond to make sure you enjoy your stay as well.

The Monastero San Silvestro is a stone's throw from Cortona in a small settlement. Once in the spacious grounds, it seems you are in the middle of the Tuscan countryside. The former monastery is a beautiful stone and brick building converted into apartments with all of the amenities. Donato is a kind and helpful host, too.
