“Good food and good portions”
Reviewed May 25, 2013

Ate here in connection with adjoining hotel stay as part of Tuscany group tour. Food always good and attention paid to dietary needs of tour participants.

“Not impressed”
Reviewed April 20, 2013

We went to this place which was recommended by a friend. We booked it for a dinner and were quite excited about having dinner on the terrazzo overlooking the lights of Cortona.
On arriving we were taken downstairs to our table. I questioned the reason why we were downstairs and not outside and was simply told that the terrazzo was closed at this time for dinner. Still unsure why because when we booked we were told we would be outside.
Anyway, we sat inside but the windows were dirty and the trees were blocking our view of any lights or any of Cortona.
We ordered our meals which were ok, nothing to rave about, and then we noticed there was one couple sitting outside but still they couldn't explain to us why we were not allowed out there.
The staff were rude, too busy looking after another table which were obviously spending more money as it was a function from the USA, to even notice us.
We didn't order desert or coffees and took a nice stroll up the Main Street of Cortona and had a great coffee and biscotti up there.
This place really needs to smarten up.

“Great lunch at a great location”
Reviewed April 18, 2013

We and two friends had lunch at Tonino's today. It is situated on the west side of Piazza Garibaldi which is located at the east end of the main street Via Nazionale. I had a mixture of Tuscan cold cuts ,Crostini and a Flan. It was very good. I then had a pasta with a simple meat sauce it was also very good. Then my insalata mista was fresh and crisp. My wife had the salad (forget name) with Tuna, egg, ham corn and she said it was very good. We enjoyed a bottle of house local Red wine and it was good. The service seemed a little disorganized,we had to ask for grated Parm. But the location and day made all worthwhile. A very enjoyable luncheon outside on the deck.

“What a view!”
Reviewed November 5, 2012

First of all, if your are in Cortona you already have found the best little niche of paradise in Tuscany. Tonino's is right at the foot of the main street through this quaint little town. The atmosphere is the right blend of sophisticated and casual. Excellent service and the most interesting and delicious menu for miles around. Get an inside window table and a couple of bottles of the local Montapulciano Nobile and let life happen.

“Amazing wedding reception, gear food, service and a view to die for ( and probably from if you fall over the edge )”
Reviewed October 7, 2012 via mobile

Only a short review , had our Wedding Breakfast here on 5th Oct, great organisation and the food was superb. The wine flowed freely and even though we had a set package there was more than enough of everything. Service was perfect. The location is something else, we were on the lower terrace and it was amazing. A&J
