A wonderful place to stay as a family if you enjoy visiting the sights (Sienna 40 mins away, Florence 1H15) but want some relaxing days as well; our teens loved the 14m pool (well maintained). Amidst fields of sunflowers, in view of historic Cortona, our large country style flat was clean, comfortable and simply decorated. There were two bedrooms, but It is possible to sleep two more on the sofa bed if you don't mind being a bit cramped ! The kitchen was small but equiped with the basics. However if you plan on doing any cooking, do pack some essentials (salt and pepper, a few herbs, matches etc to avoid buying everything on arrival). The owner was available and helpful in case of problems or questions. There are four other flats on site (possibilities for groups of friends, who still want some privacy), children's play area, ping pong table and a laundry room. Supermarkets and restaurants within 8-10km. We spent two weeks here; just the right balance of visiting (Tuscany and Umbria) and pool days. Although at 900 euros a week, it wasn't a cheap rental, we would recommend it as good value for money. Don't forget the mosquito repellant/ bite creams if you are susceptible ; it is the countryside!!

Room Tip: The small flats have only 1 bedroom, even if they say it can sleep four. Don't be tempted by the...

Excellent location for exploring Tuscany and Umbria.Perfect for people who don't want to stay in a hotel.Well equipped apartment with air conditioning, good shower with large towels.Close to town for groceries and restaurants yet in the country away from city noise and crowds.Beautiful pool and sorroundings.Well maintained property.Only downer is the lack of screens on the windows.Owner is very accomodating and helpful (bottle of wine waiting for us )but has limited English. This was not a problem for us but might be to some.
Overall a wonderful vacation experience.

We have spent a wonderfull week at case Sant Anna again, enjoying the very clean swimmingpool the tranquility, and the vieuw of the landscape. We travel to Italy more often, but only here we have been coming back for the third time already. The appartments are comfortable and cool, since there are thick ancient stone walls. The setting of the house and the appartments is done well, each appartment has enough space inside and outside. Because of the historical atmosphere one does not feel beeing in a superficial holliday home, the house has been at that same spot for a long time. The interior of the appartment suits this idea well, the walls are decorated with a fine choice of artworks and furniture. We can advise you to stay here!

When I first arrived at Case Sant'Anna I fell in love with it. Strada bianca leads to Leopoldina where Omar and his sister live. Leopodina is a fairy tale historical mansion. Leopoldina is an ancient achitecture designed by Granduca Leopoldo in the 18th century. Around Leopoldina there are two ancient houses completely restored.

Since I go to Case Sant'Anna every two or three months, I really know every single lovely apartment over there. I love them so much. I like the style which is so simple and warm. My favourite flat is the one on the corner, developed on two floors, which has a massive fireplace in the kitchen. It is lovely to drink a glass of red wine reading a book close to the ancient fireplace. Fully furnished in an onld style, this apartment really looks like a coutry house. It is cosy and warm and I feel in a tale.

I like Case sant'Anna beautiful garden so much. It is so rich of trees and flowers. During the month of May it is full of lights and shadows due to a lovely light.
The pool in the garden is also amazing. I like swimming when I come back from a visit to a city of art such as Siena, Perugia, Pienza, Sansepolcro, Arezzo. Those Medieval or Renaissance cities are not so far from Cortona. Perugia is the farest one at 45km from Case Sant' Anna.

I strongly recommend to enjoy one week in one of the cosy apartments.

Room Tip: The one one the corner, developed on two floors.

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
As of 2017, the «Agriturismo Case Sant'Anna» has been completely renovated. We have made structural changes to the interior and created a large space that can comfortably house 14-18 beds, and is ideal for large groups of friends and family. During the renovation, special attention was given to maintaining the architectural authenticity of Tuscan homes, while also enhancing the modern amenities (such as A/C and modern kitchen appliances). The Agriturismo is strategically located so that it is convenient to reach the many artistic cities in Tuscany and nearby Umbria. From the vantage point of the swimming pool, one can admire a panoramic view of the ancient and picturesque town of Cortona, just a few minutes drive away. The entire estate is surrounded by a beautiful garden of olive trees and Tuscan foliage. Adjacent to the pool is a ping-pong table, a foozball table, a swing for children and a jacuzzi pool, ideal for those wishing a totally relaxing vacation. ... more   less
