We have been a few times to this place, which is conveniently located in Camucia, with plenty of parking space. The place is always packed, even on a weekday in winter.
You can choose which fish they cook for you and how. The pizzas are excellent as well. Good wine list. Friendly waiters.
The perfect place to go to when you are fed up with all the meat and salumi which that part of Tuscany seems to be full of.

Located on the main street of Camucia (Cortona) you will find Canta Napoli, a ristoranti where local residents gather to celebrate food, wine and family. On a recent trip, our friend Guido went with us to Canta Napoli. In one of our better decisions, we asked Guido to order dinner for us.

What a feast we had! The dinner we enjoyed included:

Antipasto: Steamed mussels con pepe;

Primi: Spaghetti con vongole and Ricotta filled ravioli with a butter and sage sauce;

Secondi: Pesce fritti (calamari, shrimp, clams…)
Pesce grillati: (sea bass, swordfish, gamberoni, calamari…):

Dolce: Lemon sorbetto.

The seafood was fresh and flavorful. The pasta was “aldente to perfection”. Canta Napoli is a joyful ristoranti with great food and great service.

Several years ago we asked our friends that live in Camucia to take us to a local place where people go to eat for everyday food. They took us to Canta Napoli and we LOVE it….I have been reluctant to place anything about this place on the internet fearing it may ruin such a wonderful place unspoiled by tourists.

It’s a Neapolitan style pizzeria as the name implies. They feature a large variety of pizzas. We always have one however we never miss some of the freshest seafood available anywhere. I recommend the calamari salad and mixed grilled seafood. Both of these dishes are featured in the pictures above. Let’s not forget the fresh Neapolitan pastries driven up from Naples almost daily. The Baba Rum or Baba au Rhum is my personal favorite and I rejoice when they have them……..

I wholeheartedly recommend Canta Napoli and we will certainly return hoping that not too many of my followers are taking all the tables.

Our group of five adults arrived very late for lunch but were still greeted and treated graciously. This small but elegant place sould probably take the name "pizzeria" off their site (at least for americans)! We ten to think of pizzerias from a U.S. perspective; fast-food, small "joints". Canata Napoli is compact but the table linens and decor tell you right away you're in a great place. The service was friendly, efficient, informed and willing to assist with some special requests.
Seafood is the name of the game here and we partook of the mussels (prepared two ways), the sole and the mixed seafood grill. The photos might not do justice because we started eating before we remembered to take the shot.
We had met the chef, Franco, at another ristorante. He came out and greeted us, took us on a tour and displayed the amazing remainder of the super fresh swordfish that he gets from his fish vendors. Both he and the owner, Mario, were sincerely concerned that we had the best experience. And we did. This ristorante is a way to have a Cortona experience without the crowds.

I ordered the pasta with scoglio and can only recommend you never order this. It was very bland and I noticed some other tables smothering it with salt and parmesan just to make it edible. I left there 40 euros later pretty much not touching my meal, which was very dissapointing, although my wife, who is italian, enjoyed her pizza. The waiter was rude and it was nasty to see him so very bad sweating. Were in a hurry to send us away.
